High-Five Hotel: Stayed here a few different occassions when Sunshine had too much construction next door or Metro Apts. weren't available. 500-700 baht. Decent, clean rooms, big beds, cold a/c you can run all day while gone, warm to hot water. No safe, no internet. This place apparently was closed due to a fire some years ago, so it looks like a place that is struggling to survive. I wish I could buy it--heh heh!
Roof has a decent pool, incredible views of Pattaya and ocean, and is a nice place to take your girl for a romantic 3 minutes before taking her back to the room!
Really lacking in most hotel-type services--room service, bar downstairs needs lots of hot gurls...but it's right on Soi 8. I had a room right on the Soi and it was incredibly noisy; also had a room in the alley and it was quiet and great, but also had a nice view of the ocean. Unfortunately they're remodeling next door, so some rooms have more noise than others. No joiner fees. In fact, staff are barely a presence.
