I've just returned from my second trip to Thailand in 12 months.

I stayed at the Flipper House hotel on Soi 7 in Pattaya this time - great place to lay your head not to mention the odd dozen or so thai babes. I booked over the internet (which several buddies told me would cost more than just turning up) but hey you've had a 13 hr flight from England do you really want to start looking for a room? Anyhow I agreed a rate of 1050 baht a night for a deluxe room, first thing they did when I booked in was reduce the rate to 900 without any prompting nice start to the stay!

At the bottom of the lift they have a hairdressers staffed by 3 girls, as well as cutting your hair they also offer 'massage', one evening the girl I bar fined was not the greatest and in the following afternoon I was feeling a little in need of more relief. Popped down to the hairdressers asked what the rate was for massage 300 baht an hour £5 or around 3.5 dollars

Nok my masseur was in my room in 2 minutes, then proceeded to relieve me THREE times in the next 11/2 hours BBBJ, ride me and doggy, I gave her 700 baht and she thought I it was her birthday

They have security and the girls have to leave their ID cards to protect you if anything goes wrong which it didn't for the next 14 days

Its location on Soi 7 means that you walk right out of the hotel into dozens of bars and 100's of very eager bar girls, but my room was on the top floor and very quiet

Great value and VERY guest friendly

Easily one of the nicest hotels in Pattaya for the money. Rooms were very large and clean with nice amenities (nothing fancy). A/C worked very well and it was nice and quiet. Service is excellent and the location can't be beat. Stayed here twice and absolutely loved it.

My room here is OK, nothing more, but at 650 baht per night, I can live with any of it's defects. GF du jour's reaction last night was 'small loom'.

I wanted to thank you guys, I'm new to this group and am planning a trip to Pattaya shortly and had no idea where to stay for my first trip there. Sounds like the Flipper House is ideal for my stay. I didn't see anything on roaches, hate those things so I hope they're aren't any.
Thanks

I was there for 10 days last month and I didn't notice any bugs at all. There are better rooms to be had for sure, but overall it was a decent place to call home.

Pros: Location (centrally located, beer bar ground zero), clean, friendly service desk, internet access rightout outside lobby, clean.

Cons: rooms are very plain/basic, matress is little too soft, stingy with the towels.

Next trip I'll probably be looking for a little quieter place (that's still near the action tho), so I can rent a bike and do some cruisin.

I think if I stayed there for 10 days I would be in danger of being murdered by jealous beer bar girls. My first trip I took 3 girls from various different beer bars up and down that street. It kind of turned a little messy and I was being stalked and resorted to sneaking around. After the third one, it was neither safe to enter that area from Beach road nor to enter it from the second street end. It's fortunate I was not staying there or I wouldn't have been able to safely make it back to my hotel. Especially not with another girl.

I didn't barfine on Soi7 at all. On the two occasions that I went for a beer bar girl in the vacinity, I strolled over to Soi8.

Regardless of where you are, you always gota be mindful of keeping the front yard clean. Some places are easier said than done tho!

The above comments are exactly why I stay on Soi 13 at Sandy Spring . Dynasty Inn also an option there but second best IMHO. Very quiet street no hassles when you bring your wife du jour back to room. Still close to the action when you want it. Staying at a hotel in soi 7-8 area is like living in a hornets nest.

As DM said -- you don't shit where you sleep.

KM, I forgot to check--does sandy spring have decent internet access in the hotel?

Your room was SWEET. Not a JW/Weston room, but well about the scant furnishings available elsewhere. What was the rate? I'm heading there if they have rooms available from now on.

DM I was in the suite. Since I booked at last minute they had no other room available- at least that was their story and they stuck to it. Suite 2,500 baht per - a bit pricey for Pattaya. I think if you pay the silly 325 baht for " membership " --in what I do not know - you can get the deluxe room for 13 or 14 hundred baht . I cannot remember. I always end up in the suite. With membership it goes for 2,300 I believe. It is very quiet and the best part is the lack of the Thai BG secret service watching your every move. You want a Westin or JW type room you gotta go to Royal Cliff for about 5-7,000 baht. Forget about bringing a pooying back there.

DM -- Forgot- NO internet access in room and No safe. Major negatives but same same in most Pattaya dumps. Right around the corner on Second RD is an internet cafe with cheap rates and decent speed. You saw me there once.
