These seem to be the cheapest option in Shanghai. They are all over and easy to spot. I have tried two in particular. Good experience and the girls can range from 3's to 8's. It seems that the going rate is about 200 RMB. I cannot say that the rooms are the best and cleanest places, but I am sure that you can take out if you choose. More to come.

Yes, BBS's are the cheapest option, and there are plenty of BBS all over Shanghai. Only thing about Shanghai is that the BBS scene is fluid (some get temporarily closed or out of inventory, change location and quality varies) as there have been increased crackdowns due to the upcoming Olympics. Note that "lu" means road and you can ask your bi-lingual bellhop or hotel clerk to write it in Chinese for the driver. I found most drivers will know you want "xiaoje" (girls) and give them the name of the streets.

Most of the BBS are clustered in small streets or alleys. Often times, 150-200 rmbs in house and more for takeout (negotiable).

Here are the BBS I've tried that are resilient and interesting to visit.

Go to the intersection of Jin Tai Lu and Jin Qiao Lu. About 5-10 BBS shops here. There is a decent 24 hour sauna on this intersection, in the building next to the Jinqiao Hotel (ask Taxi to be taken here).

10-15 shops-- located on the strip on Eshan Lu ("ocean lu") between Dong Fang Lu and Pudong Nan Lu. Hit or miss quality but bound to find something good. The inhouse rooms need cleaning and charge will be higher for takeout and some gals will not go out. I believe the address is Xianxia Road No, 638.

There are some bbs on Kanding Lu, but did not take good notes. Many taxi drivers will know if you say "xiojie" and kanding lu.
