in August 2002 I spend almost 3 weeks in Bangkok. I lived in an very comfortable and cheap hotel at the Sukhumvit Soi 8. The name was "Hotel Promenade". I can really recommend this hotel, because it is located right next to the Top spots "Nana Entertainment" at Soi 4 and the "Soi Cowboy" at Soi 31. A double room cost about 25 US Dollar per night. Its no problem to have girls in your room or at the swimmingpool on the rooftop. Girl you can easily find in the nana and the bars around. 100 meters from the Hotel is a bar calles "pussycat". They offer a special menue. You can choose a girl a "meal" from that menue such as "blowjob" and stuff. After you have chosen,the girl will take you upstairs and give you what you want. Prices range from 15 US Dollar to 50 US Dollar. Blowjob will be made without condom and until the "final".

I have cumulatively spent about two months at the Promenade. It's where I always stay in Bangkok. I love it because the place is QUIET! I sleep well there. It's far enough down Soi 8 that you don't hear any noise from Sukhumvit or the bars, yet it's close enough that it doesn't take long to walk. The staff know me and treat me very well (I also get a room discount). Give Juv a tip (she works nights) and you'll be taken care of. Babu, the night manager, is very cool as well.

I suggest getting a room that faces Soi 8, as there is a school behind it and the kids can be noisy in the morning when you're trying to sleep in.

The Promenade is run by a chinese family for almost two decades now. I had been there 15 ys ago and still use to stay there. Rooms are decent and clean, but a bit worn down. King size bed, TV, mini-bar, telefon, aircon, marble bathroom with tub, room-safe. They also have non-smoking rooms. Location is very quiet, cause soi 8 is a dead-end. Now they placed a sign in front of the hotel which says that the room rate is 1.000 baht per night (24 US), but you might bargain and bring it down to 800 baht. Pool on the roof has just a diameter of 2.5m and is only 1m deep. Therefore forget about it. They have also a gym on the roof close to the pool, but everything is broken. Only two chairs, so taking a sunbath is only possible if you are lucky. But hotel is girl friendly and safe.
