Hi friends, guess it is time to come out of my lurking phase to active state.
Well, I have planned a trip to AC coming April. I have a few concerns, which I guess, aren't typical to this great forum.
I am from India/Bangalore. I don't think you will see many Indians in that part of the world. How are Indians perceived? Am I likely to be discriminated against for not being a white? I am not a budget traveler. I earn in 5 figures USD. Being in an expensive city, the costs there are significantly low. An average hotel (3 star and below) here goes for $90-$100 a night. A two hour session with an average looking girl puts me back by $250. You get the drift.
I am a total vegetarian. Am I likely to starve?
How is the mugging scene there?
Rest I guess are common between you and me, which I can very well learn reading here. Thanks for your replies.

Purush,
Your right, I don't recall seeing any Indians in AC in all my jaunts.
As for your concerns:
1. You may not be a budget travelers, but AC is a budget locale. Keep that in mind.
2. Food-- you can live on peanuts and pizza right?
3. Mugging-- use some common sense and you won't have any issues.

Thanks Don. I sure can live on pizza, not sure about the peanuts though :-)

Although I haven't seen Indians prior, people come in all sizes, shapes, and colors in AC. As long as you are willing to buy a couple drinks, barfines, and tip the gal (e.g. 100-200 pesos), I'm sure they will treat you just fine.

One thing that does come to mind though. IIRC, Didn't the AC police have an Indian guy working for them as bait for their little crackdown/revenue collection project a couple of months back? Indian guy went in the bar and paid a barfine, police followed and busted the bar for charging barfines? I have no idea if that would make any lasting impression on bar owners. I imagine the Piso will always reign supreme. But I do recall thinking at the time it could reflect poorly on Indians.

There is plenty of racism all over Asia, including Angeles City. If you do encounter a girl who won't go with you, there are plenty of others. Each of the girls has their preference...
I don't think you will have to deal with the out right racism that you would confront you in Thailand (really bad for Indians there). So no rejections at the front of the club (assuming that what IAS mentioned is not true or left an impression on the managers).
If you are buying drinks you will be fine, but to save time/money/bad company make sure to try and get a vibe from the chick before you bring her off the stage (eye contact/smiles, etc).
You will not find too many vegetarian Pinoys (read these people lub their meat). So finding a variety of veggie options in AC might prove a challenge. Food on the main strip just plain sucks (veggie/non veggie). I would check out some of the places at SM Mall for more options and also make sure you swing by C'Italian, which has great food.
In my 5 trips to AC I have never had a problem with , but I am larger than average. On this board it has been mentioned that there have been a number of muggings at night near a field out on Perimeter Road. This news is old however. I would surprised if you have any problems.
I hope you enjoy your trip. Please let us know how it goes.

Purush, since you're no longer lurking, how about posting some up to date info on the "Hombre" scene, anywhere and everywhere in India? Please. ![]()

Sancho, Bambu thanks. That was pretty helpful in knowing what to expect. I should be prepared to swallow some pride at times in the hunt of holes :-)
Sf4dfish, there not much hombre scene in India to write home about. The only true red light area in India is in Bombay, called Kamatipura. It is a place frequented by the truck drivers and manual labor types. It reflects the idea of mongering in India, that it is a thing of the ruffians. Why else would I want to escape India is search of holes in a free atmosphere.
Indians are very hippocratic in the matters of sex. Being the second most populous country, talking sex is a taboo. Given a chance everyone wants it, but in the face of it, no one is less than a saint. It is like, everything is fine unless you are caught and if you are caught, then you are condemned and ostracized by the society. In most places police aren't tolerant to this activity. So, there is always a dagger hanging over your head. You wouldn't want to be featured in the newspaper under the column - Another sex racket busted.
Due to this short supply, the prices are exorbitant. That is, unless you are prepared to go into one of those red light areas, which truly flash red lights :-)
There are quite a many Escort agencies in the metro areas. The last time I used one of these services, I paid $250. Last week I inquired it had touched $350 for a 2 hour session. In spite it is all done in such a hush hush manner, that you feel scared half the time, save the few moments you are in orgasm :-) However, I feel of other options this is the safest, though an expensive one. If you are coming to one of the Indian cities, just do a search in Google for Escort+city.
Another problem with most Indian chicks is their conservative outlook about sex. It is best done in the missionary way. Other adventurisms will label you a pervert. I see this changing with the younger crop.
What a pity. India gave the world The Kamasutra. And we are having to seek out other places for gratification. Best of luck with mongering in India :-)

Purush, thanks for the info. I hope wherever you go, you have a great time!
Have you gone to BKK yet? I see a lot of people of Indian descent, and some of the mixed Thai/Indian girls look quite exotic.
Jakarta might be another place for you to try? sf4dfish

Purush,
Sounds like you just described the U.S.
. It's good to know we're not the only hypocritical country in the world when it comes to matters of sex!

Sf4dfish, thanks for the compliment. I heard there is a great bias against Indian in BKK. I won't blame Thais though, for many Indians do behave cheap and you become a victim of prejudice. Afterall pride has some place.
How is the scene in Jakarta? Any specifics from an Indian PoV?
El_apodo, LOL. But you need to visit Indian once to measure the difference. Showing a big cleavage at 12 in the night makes ministers scream in the Parliament. The same minister might get caught in a scandal is a different matter. The might of virile men is nothing compared to the many womens' organizations who scream at every given opportunity the dignity of woman being compromised. There was recently an incident where a freelance journalist got the number of an escort agency asked for a girl to a hotel. Police lay in cover and the moment money exchanged hands, they pounced upon the hapless girl. Though we clients are safe from this problem, it makes the escort girls have a cynical outlook.
If you ever visit India, I suggest you visit Khajuraho - http://www.liveindia.com/khajuraho/ There are so many stone carvings of sexual positions on the walls of temples that you wonder is this the same India I am in? Our forefathers were very liberal in their impressions of sex it was an art in those times. There were brothels which even the kings visited in huge processions.
Well.. Well.. I am boring you guys. Thanks for all your valuable suggestions.

Purush, at the risk of offending - I don't think it's cheapness that turns off Thai girls. Many Indians seem to practice what westerners and Thais would consider poor personal hygiene. To be blunt - many have quite noticeable body odor. That may be acceptable in India, but it WILL get you ostracized in Thailand, and filipinas would not be fond of it either. A good shower and a little light, fresh smelling cologne can make a world of difference. Hope I didn't stereotype too much - all our cultures have their foibles.

Phoenixguy, it is great to know the perception from the other side. The educated ones take shower daily. Perhaps there is an odor that is typical of Indians which an Indian nose doesn't smell.
Offending? No. The ones that talk straight are the best friends.

Most of the Filipinas could use a lesson in hygiene themselves. Purush might want to bring a bottle of femiine wash himself for the girls to use. Fair is fair.
Purush, if you are there from April 12-21, I will be happy to show you around.

The Filipinas seemingly have learned their lesson in my experience. It has been at least 2 years since I have run into a stink box and then it was likely because she was too drunk to shower adeguately. The next morning when she was sober she showered and was sweet smelling and tasting.
Purush
Hook up with Blazers if you can and learn from a master.
BTW Blazers
What ever happened to your PI honeyko ??
I'm enjoying your pics on PI at Night.

Blazers, my dates aren't finalized yet. I will try and make it for the dates you are in AC. I really appreciate your kind offer. Thank you.

Purush, glad you didn't take my comments the wrong way. I work in a high-tech company, and I have lots of Indian coworkers. I've certainly never noticed any body odor among my close coworkers, but even in our environment (almost exclusively college educated people) I have run across 1 or 2 that must have missed the memo. Go figure...
Dab on a little fresh-smelling cologne (I like Davidoff Cool Water myself), put a smile on your face, some pesos in your pocket, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of filipinas willing to treat you right. Hope you have a great time!

Phoenixguy, you make me look forward to the trip. If Phoenix is your place, I had an acquaintance in Mesa. A fun guy to work with. Thanks :-)
