If you're in Manila and need some beach time, the closest tourist area is Baloy Beach in the Subic area. There are plenty of hotels along Baloy Beach road, but there is one in particular that is a real bargain, the Beach Boulevard Hotel. It's a small, cozy place that is owned and operated by an American, Marvin. Some rooms have AC while others just have fans, but all have hot water. The room rates range from $10.00 for fan rooms up to $17.00 US.
