Believe it or not, one of the best ways to hook up in Japan is by going to a pay phone booth. It does require a bit more knowledge of Japanese, but if you can speak the basics, you might just get lucky.

You see, inside every pay phone booth in Japan there are baseball card sized stickers that advertise local escorts. This is not limited to just the big cities of Tokyo and Osaka, but when I first moved to Japan I lived in a rural area in Northern Honshu and we traded the cards like baseball cards.

Most cards are pretty straight forward, telling you about the girl and what she is willing to do as well as price. They also have a picture on them which may or may not be the girl. Your luck may vary on that one.

But, a much higher percentage of these ads will see gaijin man. I think it is because your basic level of Japanese need to arrange the deal smoothes things over a bit.

So if you have some basic Japanese skills, and the fashion health places keep slamming the door in your face, give this alternative a shot. It has worked for me, and the girls tend to be younger and more willing.

Thanks for all the Japan info, Cap'n. Say, how much do these escorts usually run? I always figured there's got to be an escort scene in Japan, since the soaps and fashion clubs are so closed to gaijin, and there's got to ge something for those poor, older gals (over 25...) to do.

The prices can vary a GREAT deal based on your ability to negociate and the girls willingness to take on a gaijin. Now in the Pink Light District, it is 14,000 yen (a little over $100 at the current exchange rate) for a quick twenty minute in out done. Longer sessions can be had, but prices are comparable to the States.

Now the Non-Japanese street walkers are roughly 15,000 yen ($120). But then you got to chip in another $30 or $50 for a Love Hotel room.

If you have a minimum of charm and looks, you can try going to a Gaijin club and you will have a great chance to get the same action for free. The girls who go to these clubs are looking for Western Boyfreinds and are usually willing to go all the way on the nite you meet them.

There are a few other scences, such as Enjo Kosi and Swing Clubs, but those take a bit more knowledge of Japanese and may not be for you.

If you are coming this way, would be glad to give you a guided tour. Just remember, most of the shops where you can get in will not offer full service. I have found some that are quite freindly and helpful, but most are not open to Westerners. Just be polite and hope for the best.

Duh, I actually didn't answer your question about phone booth prices. Sorry. Again, it varies a great deal, but is usually about 15,000 to 20,000 yen.

After having spent many many nights on the prowl in tokyo and having lots of fun I have not yet managed to partake in Enjo Kosi. Can anyone shed any light on areas around tokyo that are known for this of what I should look out for. In the short term I guess I have to keep hunting in ropponghi or visiting century 21.

Enjo Kosi was 99.999% of the time an arrangement between a wealthy mature Japanese gentleman and a teen-aged Japanese girl. (I only heard of one Gaijin ever being involved in such an arrangement.) Since Japan changed its laws pertaining to Age of Consent a few years ago this practice is pretty much an "underground" thing now, being illegal.

For a change of pace from Ropponghi or Shibuya (Century 21) - try either the adult entertainment district a few blocks from Shinjuku station or some of the street meat in Okuba.

The Okuba gals are almost all non-Japanese - alot of Europeans, some South Americans and a few nice Philipinas. If you see one that looks Thai - it's probably a Ladyboy. Best sex I had last trip was with a gorgeous Colombian I picked up on the stroll.
