i'm staying here now. negotiated a rate of 700THB/nt for two weeks. the offer was 900THB if staying just one night (website says 1,200THB).

place is brand new. rooms are good size. no guest charges. no bath tub (i hate those, unless they can fit two). i like the shower stall only set up. this one doesn't flood the whole floor, like some do. wifi in room free of charge. no breakfast though. restaurant right next door offers full breakast for 135THB.

hotel is located across the street from poppa palace. i stayed there first and then moved over to this place. poppa palace is good but they've got some funky TV system. different than any other hotel i've stayed at in phuket (and i've stayed at alot of them). i'm here for months so i need a few english channels to watch from time to time (poppa had a couple news channels, that was it).

room (700), breakfast (135), tai life gym with a pool (1250/wk, call it 200/day), and internet (free). so for roughly 1,100/day you get what the full service resorts have (and they charge at least double that plus most charge for ladies also).

very easy walk to bangla road and no bars near the hotel so very quiet at all times.

I just got here today. I got a cab from the airport for 500 baht. I think the minivan was 150 baht. My driver stopped at a travel agency saying he did not know how to get here. They asked me if already booked and i said no.

I told them I was quoted 900 baht and they said they could do it for 800 baht. I paid them for two nights. The internet is wireless but cost 100 baht a day.

There is also a 1000 baht deposit. Their internet was down but I can get a signal from the hotel across from me (Poppa-Palace) and it cost 200 baht a day. It is a pretty good signal.

I just got here but the room is nice and the a/c works good. it also seems to be in a good location. there shower is seperate and has a shower curtain.

The lady working the front is nice and she said there will be no guest fees. They went across the street to buy the internet access for me.

this is my first time in Phuket.

RT,
Thanks for the update on the PL Hotel. I am considering staying there this summer.

Did you ask the Hotel how much they would charge per day if you want to extend your stay? Seems unlikely the travel agency gave you the best possible rate.

i always use the 500thb airport taxi service. about half the time the guy stops at a travel agency using some excuse, etc... and then they try to sell you all kinds of "packages". you'd think when you are using the most expensive travels means, you'd get to bypass stuff like this.

as i recall i did change over to the internet at poppa palace. the pacific light's net was not good at all. but i got good service via poppa palace's network (600 baht for 4 days).

low season pricing should be 700-800thb/nt.

i am still here. i have not asked them how much more i am paying per day. i think they will give it to me for 700 baht a day. i think i am the only person here. i am using their internet now and it is working well.

it is nice to have a choice of two internet connections. they do have fox news on their cable if you like fox.

the restaurant downstairs is pretty good and the will deliver to your room. there is also laundry across the street.

LAUNDRY

Next to the Hotel. They will bring it to your room. Nice people!

Everyone was really nice working there. They never charged me a guest fee but I would confirm that when you email them and check it. There is a sign seeing they do charge but they never charged me.

I did not take pictures but the massage place next to the hotel is really nice. I just got a regular thai massage.

The internet did go down sometimes. You can use the hotel across the street if their internet goes down. You can rent mopeds really close to the hotel and you can park your moped in front of the hotel. Paid 150 baht a day for the moped.

I stayed here in late August. I agree with Riotimes assessment. Nice hotel for a very reasonable price. I called ahead and asked for their discount rate for a two week stay. They gave me the 700b rate (will cost more in high season). They do charge 100b/day for wirless internet but when I hesitated they offered it for 800b for the duration (12 days).

As RT mentioned, there is a sign at the check-in desk that says that they charge for joiners but when I asked about it, I was assured that there would be no charge(and there wasn't). When I was there they had a few brand-new mopeds right in the lobby for rent. No need to walk half a block anymore. Lol.

I highly recommend this hotel. Good quiet location, close to the action, good restaurant, friendly staff and great price. I will definitely stay there again.
