I am going to AC in 8 weeks time. I am looking to stay at the SWAGMAN-NARRA Reort. Is it ok? Can i walk to the action? Are the rooms good.

I haven't stayed there in a long time probably 12 years ago was the last time but the place has been around for at least 25 years and hopefully it has been renovated a few times since then.
Back in the old Clark AB days they had some of the best pool parties and wet T-Shirt contests around.
It isn't close but can easily be gotten to via jeepney or trike and I'm pretty sure they run a shuttle back and forth too.

thanks for that. I see on thier website that they have done a lot of renovations and it looks good. I am stuggling with the location of it. Is it out on the perimeter road. Can you walk to good bars or do i have to take transport.

very poor location, don't advise staying there.
Stay at Central Park, not much more money but far better location.

see if you can get a room at pacific breeze. i've only been to AC once (8 days) and i was quite happy to have a room at the PB. i didn't like AC much but i sure did like the hotel. i think i paid a bit less than 50usd.

Swagman is off of McArthur Highway and is 2-3 miles away from the action. Look at this satellite view http://www.margarita-station.com/hotels/swaggy/sat.jpg
I agree for the same price stay at Central Park hotel or its sister bigger newer more expensive Pacific Breeze hotel they are both in the belly of the beast.

If you're going to A.C. for the first time, I would advise you to NOT stay there. To far from the action, especially at night. The Orchid Inn, (Not the Wild Orchid) is in the same price range for a room, and right in the middle of it all.

Darryl, if you tell us your preferred price range and whether or not a pool is important to you, you'll probably get some better recommendations for hotels near the action.

Hi,
Around the $40 mark. Yes with a pool
By Phoenixguy on Sunday, July 27, 2008 - 11:45 pm: Edit
I believe Central Park is still under $40, and you can use the pool at their sister property the Pacific Breeze.
Orchid Inn (not Wild Orchid) is also in your price range, and has a very nice pool area. If you're not picky about having a fancy room, that may be your best bet.
Both are very close (easy walking distance) to the main strip of bars on Fields.
You can scope out other options here: http://www.balibago.com/where_to_stay.html, but under $40 your options are pretty limited, especially if you really want a pool.

thanks all. i will be there in early september. Might catch up with a few of you. Any more advice appreciated.
By Fooledagain1 on Monday, July 28, 2008 - 07:43 am: Edit
Central Park at $32 a night, and free use of the nice pool in PB for you and as many of your "new friends" that want to join you.
Very short walk to pool.

You might want to book very soon, they sell out quick.

Thanks all. I have booked 2 rooms at central park. Once again thanks for your advice.

Of the 3 hotels mentioned in this thread (Pacific Breeze, Central Park and Orchid Inn) which one gives you a stable internet access in your room . . . wireless or otherwise?
By Khun_mor on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - 09:48 pm: Edit
Depends on your definition of stable. No such thing in AC. Of all the hotels I have stayed in -- and that includes the three you mentioned -- Lewis Grand has by far the fastest most reliable internet service.
Ok the three you ask about I would say Pacific Breeze would be the best for internet. One proviso is I have not stayed at Orchid for 4 years .
I doubt they have upgraded anything since then. Cheap Aussies.

I was going to try out the Brass Knob Hotel. I saw it last year and am considering it. Has anybody an opinion?
By Fordtech6447 on Thursday, August 28, 2008 - 05:25 am: Edit
I was looking at Brass Knob also, haven't decided tho. I like a pool and they only have a hottub on the roof. I think I will be a phoenix which is right down the road. As far as internet speed goes, I stayed at Lewis Grand in July and there internet speed was tops in ac.

what about the best hotel if price is not a concern. i want a nice room. must have a hot tub. im planning on having a pool party so pool i guess. i c abc mentioned as the best but im also interested in location and not sure... also i dont want to b to savage at all hours of the night for any respectful persons. i read 1 description claiming to have the largest hot tub in ac. (wonder how many bitches i can fit in it) swiss chalet seems to have the location but not sure bout the pics ive seen of the rooms. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lewis Grand is the best hotel but the location may not be perfect for a newbie. There have been sdome really wild pool parties there as well. The jacuzzis will hold 3-4 filipinas.

whats the best hotel w hot tub pool and good location please?
By Khun_mor on Sunday, September 28, 2008 - 11:56 am: Edit
Pacific Breeze or Wild Orchid Resort would be best bets if you want to be in the middle of the Field action.
I happen to like Lewis Grand's location because I spend a great deal of my time on Perimeter. It is overall THE best hotel IMO.
