Heading to AC in the PI soon from the US, first time, and can't figure out squat about bringing my electric shaver and cellphone charger re: the electricity situation there? Need adapters? Converters? Do they have decent barber shops there to get a shave so I can just leave the thing home? Any info from AC vets would be GREATLY appreciated.

No converters needed.

Most power in AC is 220. Most laptops handle 110 or 220. Check your power supplies.
On fields a haircut, shave, and a mani/pedi can be had for less than $5US for all of that.
Shave only is a little over $1US on fields. The guy in Mo's charges double that.

The 110 and 220 plugs are the same, you can plug a phone charger or electric shaver into the 110 or 220 outlets, doesn't matter.
Never had a problem.

I'm not sure what kind of shaver or phone charger you have but mine will only do 110V. Notebooks, sure, they are auto-detect and can handle both, but most other items won't.

Most electrical doohickeys these days have a lable on them somewhere that says what they will run on. If you see something like "INPUT 110-220V~50/60Hz" or something thereabouts you are golden.
With the exception of the EBay cell phone charger I had that was clearly labled 110-240V yet detonated in my hand as I plugged it in in Batam. But damage from the blast was minimal.
Most, if not all of the hotels I have personally stayed at in AC had both 220 and 110 with US style plugs though.

I've got a Braun that I've charged without any problems in PI and China (both 220's) and in US (110).

Cat -- It does not matter what your phone charger or electric razor says, in the PI you cn use it in 110 or 220 , "IT DOES NOT MATTER, EITHER ONE WILL WORK"
Hey, this is the PI, don't ask me why, I just know it does not matter, done it many times with out a problem.
And the hotel owners told me it does not matter, that's why I did it.
The 110 and 220 outlets are both identical, they accept the same prongs a 110 outlet in the US accepts.

Based upon said "exploding cell phone charger" incident, I could argue that it certainly does matter in some instances, although it is true the majority of electrical gizmos these days are duel voltage.

Yes, you can plug into any outlet but it may be 110 or 220 and are very rarely marked. And if you noticed none have the ground plug either.
I've seen many things blow up due to the wrong voltage. You may hve just been lucky all this time.
Ask Gurock1 if they are the same as he blew up his speakers at Pacific Breeze a few weeks ago.
Do yourself a favor and buy one of these.

As I stated above, my shaver charger has always worked fine in PI, as has my cell phone charger. That said, both chargers explicity state: "Input: 100 - 240 V". While I am no electrician, I believe that is what you should be looking for.
Snooky is also right, though, that not ALL chargers accept that range. Go outside that range at your own risk.
