Been a while since I posted here but I've been in the hobby for many, many years. I've just been canned and therefore I thought it might be a perfect time for an unexpected and unplanned holiday!
I'm working on short notice here - probably leaving in the next week or so - so I've been trying to get a fast education on AC as a possible destination. Other main option is, I think, Phuket - I've been to the LOS several times and several places, most recently Koh Samui last year but never been to Phuket.
Been doing my research and based on what I've read, as far as my own personal tastes are concerned I'm thinking Phuket is the way to go. Just thought I'd post a new thread and see if anyone has any additional thoughts/comments...
Putting aside the question of personal tastes/preferences in women, it sounds to me like in terms of environment/setting AC is fundamentally similar to Pattaya - drinking and screwing and not much else. For reference purposes, I'm actually not a big fan of Pattaya. Based on the 3 times I've been there, it's cheaper than BKK but that's about all it's got going for it. Point being, I would only go to PI over Phuket if it was somewhere new, interesting and worthwhile to explore vs a "better" or "worse" place to hobby. For those of you who have been to PI, am I getting that right?? Please let me know! TIA

if you are not real hot for pattaya, i reckon you won't like AC too much.
if you choose phuket, i can try and help you out with a hotel choice. i've spent several months there over the last year. you can stay in patong beach (where 95% of the ladies are), karon beach, or kata beach. i always choose patong but many of my friends like kata. then you decide whether you want the full service or limited service hotel. for high season (starts mid nov) you probably want the limited service. but if you are going right now, you can get a decent rate at a full service place (full service = swimming pool, fitness center, room service, etc...). however, sometimes the full service places do not allow ladies or charge a joiner fee so you have to be careful about which place you choose.
my current favorite is the limited service pacific light hotel (see pacificlighthotel.com). i stayed there for 60 days (5/15 to 7/15). i paid by the week and started at 700thb/nt and then they upped it to 800thb/nt. don't pay attention to the rates on the website (claim 1,200thb/nt in low season).
no swimming pool but easy walk to the main lady area and the beach.
