I am an American who spends about 3 months each year travelling to many different regions of the world. My focus this past year has been Asia, where I spent much time in Thailand, Vietnam and China. I want to provide my review of a very interesting establishment name the PENT'cafe.

The first thing that I need to say about the PENT'cafe is that it is not cheap or inexpensive in any way. It is a first class bar and food establishment located in the basement of the Le Royal Meridian President Hotel, which is on Ploenchit Road in Bangkok near the World Trade Center Mall. It could be described as a truly formal "Beer Bar" with decor like you would find at the Five-Star Oriental Hotel AND with Five-Star ladies to go with it. More on the ladies in a moment.

The PENT'cafe is open 7 nights week from 8 PM to 2 AM. The PENT'cafe caters to wealthy or pretending to be wealthy Thai and foreign men. During my two visits there there were approximately 30 guests each time comprised of about equal portions Thai, Japanese and "Other" men. The others included folks from Britain, Australia, Germany and the USA. The concept of the establishment is to provide a very classy place that folks can come to spend time and money with the company of very classy Thai ladies. There is no cover charge to gain entry. The place makes its money by charging a fee for the time the ladies sit with you, plus the rather hefty Bar Fines for taking ladies out of the cafe. The drink prices were reasonabe for a place of type, with imported beer going for 110 baht (about $2.75 USD).

Now more about the ladies. The ladies time in the cafe cost 300 baht (about $7 USD) per 40 minutes per lady per guest. All told I thought that was very reasonable because ladies were exceptional in all ways, including but not limited to appearance, intelligence, education, sense of humor, knowledge of world events, and language skills. There were approximately 40 ladies working each night that I was there, and each one I would classify as "SuperStars." The two ladies, Darunee and Jenrada, that I spent most of my time with were educated in the USA and Australia, respectively, and had quite a mastery of the English language. I enjoyed every minute that I spent with them.

Although most (definitely not all!!) of the ladies are available to provide you company outside of the cafe, I did not get any pressure to do so from the ladies I spent time with. In fact, I had to serve the topic up whe it was discussed. Quite a change the typical environment elsewhere in Bangkok. That is one of the primary reasons that I enjoyed myself and thought that it turned out to be a good value if it was cafe company, drink and conversation that were were seeking. That is what I was seeking the first night, but the overall beauty of the ladies made me return the second night with other intentions.

The Bar Fine to take a lady out of the cafe was at least 5000 baht (about $120 USD). I say at least because some of the ladies might demand and command more. That puts the Bar Fine here at least 10 times what it is at most places. The rules as they were explained to me are that the lady gets 1000 of the 5000 baht fine and then gets an increasing portion if she negotiates a fine above the 5000 level. I paid 5000. The pricing for additional services is extra and between you and the lady. the lady I went went with asked for 10000 baht for an all night experience. When all was said and done I paid her an additional 5000 baht, and she was more than happy.

All told my two nights in the PENT'cafe and the lady cost me more than 13000 baht. I would have told yo before I did this that anyone who would pay so much is absolutely crazy, and i I probably fit that descritpion. The however part of this is that it truly was an experience of a lifetime, and consider doing it again if I could be assured that would half as much fun and pleasure. It is not for everyone, but do not discount this place just because of the prices. It may be well worth it to you, too.
