Gurock1's been pimping this place rather heavily in a different thread the last few days, and hopefully he can cut and paste some of that info here.

Porker, making me work!!!

Ok, Opened in October 2008 on Perimeter Road about 2/3 Kilometer further out than Lewis Grande. It has a pool about 2/3 the size of Pacific Breeze, with an arrangement of lobby restaurant and pool that is similar to Pacific Breeze if you were to collapse the hallway out and combine looby, restaurant and pool into one giant room. It has five floors with an elevator. As I learned the other day if you are an older fatter monger never agree to the fifth floor in AC, because even their brand new elevator was broken for the day. They did agree to move me to an identical room on the second floor from the fifth, but I hate room moves.

The staff is much more like Pacific Breeze than Lewis Grande, but as I have to remember this is the PI and they don't always think about what they're doing.

Best sides of staff are the doormen will take you anywhere any time, (within some reason) with nice new cars at suggestion of small tip and pick you up with a text message. They will do choirs and such again I would always tip, such services deserve the same. Maid is the same little lady every day and will clean whatever messes you and girls might make with no complaint. Oh yeah, restaurant waitress are cute and have good outfits, but dumb as rocks.

They have the softest most feathered comfortable beds I've ever had even compared to US. Also the nicest biggest fluffiest towels I've ever had in a hotel, but they are stingy with them and you either have to pay 75 pesos for extras or connive with a little maid tip workings. I hate extra towel charges, on the other hand they are great towels.

The room I'm in now has a 18' x 15 main room with a small sofa, desk, table 32" LCD TV, minibar fridge, nice luggage shelves, closet for safe and safe, hardwood floors, recessed lights. It then has a bathroom that is about 10' x 12 with a shower that does rainhead like LG or with controls will be regular or handheld. Bathroom has a Jacuzzi that is comfortable for 275 lbs fat guy with one or two bargirls. Hot water worked well on fifth and second floor. All the internet is Wifi. When it works it works better than most Wifi, but in four days there have been two small outages that of course came at inconvenient times for my work.

I think the price of my room is 3,800 Pesos, but then I told them that LG gives a 10% discount for stays longer than one week and they agreed to give the same discount. So I'm paying 3,320 per night which isn't too bad for me.

Before I leave the hotel, I will take some pictures to throw in.

Also it's important to understand that the guest population here is much different than LG or Pacific Breeze. I bet that the population is about 35% PI families taking vacation days, 35% Koreans and the balance a mix of everything else. I think that there are only a handful of other mongers in the hotel. On the other hand my mongering doesn't seem to bother them. I've come in at 3:00 AM drunk with multiple drunk girls in tow, no problem and one night one of my drunk girls barfed all over and after a little tip for clean up no problem.

One more comment to Porker saying that I've been pimping the place, he's right, but I don't want to pimp it that much as there are major advantages to being right in the center of things. The rooms might not be as nice at Pacific Breeze, but the location can't be beat.
I made various plan changes this trip that ruled out Pacific Breeze (they are too in demand to allow my flexible date changes and I opted for LG on my first leg). A monger who doesn't want to deal with more travel and doesn't use the motorbike and even more who isn't in their tenth trip might well be happier at Pacific Breeze, WO, Central Park. Location has advantages.

I think that I'm pimping this place compared to Lewis Grand. If you stay at Lewis Grand you've agreed to sacrifice location and you pay more for less than Savannah. The only way I see that different is if you want the giant Pres. Suite at Lewis Grand which is an incredible room at a very high price or if the giant pool of Lewis Grand holds an attraction. I thought it would but discovered that a lot of it is deep end and that the deep end is nearest the restaurant and bar. After everything I think the best pool in AC is still Pacific Breeze, but this is a matter of opinion.

Again remember that Pacific Breeze is at full occupancy much of the time, so that you can't just decide to go there and ask at the spur of the moment.

Also remember that all of the Pacific Breeze is not equal. They have some awful rooms in the annex, where the only window is to an interior corridor, bad or no hot water, and high floor without elevator. If you are wanting Pacific Breeze for the good I've said about it, you need to reserve in advance and have them guarantee you a room in the main building. If size of room and jacuzzi don't matter to you the best room is 105. it's next to the pool and restaurant, so that you and your multiple girls can go back and forth to the pool in 30 seconds. Best for parties at pool and best for late night snack with a little boom boom in the pool.

Anyway it's getting late, my food poisoning episode seems to have resolved enough to go out and I have to hunt down tonights prey.

How much would you say is a fair tip for a trip to Blue Nile (for example)? Can you get them to come and pick you & your BF up from Fields at 2am? 12mid? How far from Savannah to Honeykos? Thanks for your discovery.

Hard to say as I stayed first at Lewis Grande and went to Thailand. Since I was moving to Savannah on return I asked them to watch my rental motorbike and a few belongings while I was in Thailand. The doorman driver was the one who held them for me. When I left the items I gave him several hundred pesos to watch my moto and belongings. When I arrived at Clark he came to get me and at the hotel my moto was shining washed and everything perfect waiting. Mostly I took the moto to town whith the doorman wanting to drive and pick me up. He eagerly told me that if he took me I could text his cell when ever I needed him to get me. Remember he will also take you to SM Mall if you need to use ATM there or if you and your date(s) want to go to the movies or dinner there.

Savannah does give free pick up and drop off to Clark, if you land or leave through there. If you wanted to take your wife for the night to dinner at Holiday Inn Clark or other Clark Restaurants they would probably do pick up and drop off there.

That doorman was about the nicest guy.
I'd say that if he's good about taking and promptly picking up from text messages that 100 Pesos would be very good, as that's what the Trike would charge and that instead you are going in a new SUV. If you feel that's too much I bet fifty is acceptable.

Also NW, if you book at Savannah tell them that Lewis Grande offers a 10% discount on stays of seven days or longer and that you want them to match the discount and give 10% off.

About 2/3rds of the guests are non-mongers. When I was there it was very low key, a lot of PI families either on vacation or passing through and a few mongers. Here are a couple of pics from TI.

I have to say this hotel is my new home away from home!
Had a meeting so I stop in AC with the family have to say the nude Art was a bit much for the ol'Lady but my 5yr old makulit son loved it.

The standard room is cool but I booked the junior suite for P3600
(I paid P3300 thanks 2 Bless the FO Manager)
Staff was cool & sexy (front desk - Melai)

-My Image-
The Jacuzzi tub was worth the rate, Amazing to take a bath after 1 week in province with no hot water.

Thanks Gurock1

You're welcome

I forgot to mention the art work. The rooms are awful good for the price. Seeing the jacuzzi brought back memories.

I have to say I am liking the look of this place. I usually stay at PB, but I want to be closer to the Perimeter bars this trip. I like the fact that they advertise on their site the proximity of bars for "adult" entertainment. Sounds like a monger friendly place, as long as you aren't too over the top.

Any idea about Manila airport pick-up?

MM

By Gurock1 on Monday, May 04, 2009 - 02:22 am:  Edit

They would probably arrange airport pickup from Manila, but I came in at Clark, so I didn't ask. they were monger friendly to me, but I didn't get crazy.

By Nastyworld on Monday, May 04, 2009 - 04:25 pm:  Edit

I can tell you they are "Classy Monger Friendly" What ever that means...
Sexy adult Art on all the wall, Sexy Female Staff and close to the Perimeter bars, You cant go wrong. Even the standerd room is a good pick.

Malimike enjoy amd let us know what you think?

By Bwana_dik on Monday, May 04, 2009 - 06:04 pm:  Edit

OTOH, there aren't many hotels in AC that aren't monger-friendly. Indeed, it sounds friendly, but I must admit I prefer hotels that are pretty much pure monger hotels to the mixed-clientele ones. I don't like the "walk of shame" when I march in with three bar girls and there are families all over the place.

By Hunterman on Monday, May 04, 2009 - 10:10 pm:  Edit

Who's ashamed? The mother, trying to shield her kids from the guy with the big grin on his face and three whores?

I resent that, I only had two!!!!

The Savannah Resort is a great hotel. It’s on Don Juico Ave which is on the Perimeter. Juico Ave turns into Fields street and the hotel is about a 3 minute ride to the action on Fields. Their van takes you there and back for free. Also drives you to the mall and back for free. I stayed in a Junior Suite at $75 per night. The rooms were very nice, clean, plenty of hot water, electronic safe box, free unlimited WiFi, porno for free on the TV, very comfortable pillow top bed and big fluffy pillows. And yes they are guest friendly. I never heard anyone through the walls and the hotel is quiet. They have a great bar/restaurant area next to the pool. The food was very good and the staff is young and cute. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the VFW Hall where you can eat a good American style breakfast for a very reasonable price.

TJ...I agree with your evaluation. I took a tour of this place when it first opened up last year and was impressed. The only downside in my book is location, I prefer staying closer in to Fields since strolling around Perimeter late at night can be a little spooky.

By Mongerx on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 - 05:30 am:  Edit

I stayed here in the Savannah suite at 3420 pesos a night. I would say that I was a decent stay and much better room than you get in this price range at Lewis Grand, Pac Breeze, or the Clarkton. I am a full time perimeter guy so the location is perfect for me.

Positives:
1) The king size bed rocks; a firm quality coil spring mattress, topped with a great feather bed, and high quality egyptian cotton linens. Are you kidding me? Hello great night of sleep. Chicks love it almost as much as my pesos.

2) The bathroom is quite good. The jacuzzi tub is excellent and easy fits a fat foreigner and two pinays. The water pressure is enough to fill the thing in less than 15 minutes, and there is enough hot water that it was never and issue. The shower had rain shower head, a head on a hose, and the wall had spray jets. Water pressure was not good enough to get them spray jets cooking. The toilet has the much welcomed asian hygeine hose to squirt your ass with.

3) Split unit A/C, Big flat screen TV, wood floors (I hate carpeting in hotel rooms), good internet (no VOIP problems), an acceptable desk to work at, a hot water heater in room, with plenty of glasses and cups, and more than adequate storage space all made the room a winner

4) The car service was excellent and much more available and friendly than Lewis Grand, but the vehicles weren't as nice. Free pick-up and drop of at CRK, and they would drop you off and pick-you up for free from friendship to SM to Fields. When I called for pick-up the always came in a reasonable amount of time. I sometimes tipped them 40-50 pesos for the ride. The drivers where quite friendly, respectful, and never hinted about tips. The only negative is that we wanted to go to Fortune Restaurant on McArthur and that was outside the free drop of zone - and the hotel charged us 300 Pesos. Actually that was a big ding in my book.

Negatives
1) CAN I GET MY ROOM FUCKING CLEANED???!!!!! Three out of my first five nights here, I returned in the evening without my room made up. Despite having hung my make up room sign on the door knob, and asking the front desk to have my room made up when I left. The last time I returned half drunk after midnight with girl in tow, and I was fucking livid.

2) Staff is undertrained and unprofessional: To continue, the next day I asked to speak with the manager about the house cleaning situation. You would think I requested an audience with the pope. After the run around some claiming to be the manager - but would only introduce herself as Girlie and wouldn't produce a business card - gave me an audience. She rolled her eyes and did the "yes sir" as I calmly explained my situation with house keeping and that I thought it was important than management was aware of this, and I hoped they would fix the situation. My room was cleaned timely after that, but I opened a new toothbrush each day just in case!

The reception and restaurant waitstaff are pretty useless and they spend the whole time Bullshitting amongst themselves. Also, the inapproapirately would ask guests (not me) for presents and for them to bring them food. Whose the waitstaff here. I expect such lack of proefssionalism in a $30 a night place but not when you are charging $60 and up a night in AC.

3) The standard rooms here blow: I saw the teeny tiny standard rooms for 2500 pesos a night. WAAAAAAAY overpriced with the tiny tv, tiny stinky CR, and way too much noise from the road. The only redeeming feature of the room was the large same style bed. I only recommend this place is you get a suite.

Average,

The lobby, pool, bar, and restaurant were rather meh. But the food was better and cheaper than Pacific Breeze for sure.

I recently stayed here. I thought the rooms and entire set-up was very nice. However, I cannot recommend this hotel for light sleepers like me. I first had a room for 2 nights on the back side of the hotel and it is very quiet until around 4:30 to 5 AM when a local rooster starts doing his thing. I moved to a front room and the road noise is a problem day and night. I slept with my ear plugs in for one night and checked out the next day. The ear plugs were helpful, but I don't like to use them for a 10 day vacation. A couple nights are my max. with ear plugs.

The car service to points around town runs hot and cold. One night they quoted me a 30 minute wait to head down to the Fields bar area. I basically gave up using it and used the jeep service that runs along the road in front of the hotel every few minutes. I found that to be very convenient and easy to use. I rarely use trikes.
