I looked around and couldn't find this specific topic anywhere - usually someone enquires about how much they should be paying so they don't get ripped off. No one seems to be too worried here, but I am a little curious.

I've seen some posts where guys are spending 4000 baht for a night with a girl. This is excessive for a bar girl. I've never given a girl more than 1000 baht (plus another 500 for the barfine, so 1500 total). I have never heard a complaint or greivance from the girls, and I have never had any problems going back the next night. If you have any doubts, ask the girl before you go back to the room. If she tells you "up to you" then tell her you will give her 1000 baht. If she is not happy, she will let you know. This is for LT/GFE/whatever-you-want.

Maybe she is a stunner and wants 1500 for herself - she will tell you if she thinks you are not giving her enough money. Also, this obviously doesn't apply to clubs such as the Eden Club or massage parlors where the prices are fixed.

If you are picking up a streetwalker then you should pay less - not the $80 I saw someone paid. Streetwalkers and freelancers are sometimes amateurs that have low expectations, so even if you don't pay them much they will be grateful. Ask them first!

Now, maybe I have just been lucky and found the right girls or whatever, but I'm nothing special. I can speak a little Thai, and I understand (and respect) Thai culture, so it is easy for me to make friends with these girls sometimes. I go for the GFE and sometimes I end up paying for extra food/travel/whatever for the girl, but I don't think that it adds up to nearly what some guys are paying.

Now, maybe you guys are just being generous, and that's fine too. If you read Stickman's site, the other punters might not apreciate you inflating the prices, but it's your money. My main point is that when buying "anything" in Thailand, remember to barter. This goes for watches, clothes, souveniers, and even women.

I think your approach is correct with an exception of the high-end stunners in high demand during peak season. If you really want the girl and there are a ton of guys wanting to bar fine the same girl, you might have to outbid them. During the peak season you have to compete with the Japanese mongers who have excellent taste in women...If you blink or undervalue the girl...she's gone. We all have the girls who are on our list and will sometimes pay them 2,000 or even 2,500 for LT. This is why I do not like to go during Dec/Jan. This is just an exception to the overall rule you have stated that is customary..1,000/1,500 LT.

1,000 LT and 500 ST does not get you a high-end agogo girl, those are beer bar prices.
But once you have barfind her for two nights then that price is OK. Of course you are then buying her food and clothes as well.

after several times in thailand i find that the prices are really variable and it has alot to do with your charm and looks too. in the last two visists ( been there 5 times ) i have learned to pay no more than 1000 per night, i once paid 200 ( just the bar fine) and that was because the girl liked me (maybe she thought i was a potential husband!?) anotehr time i paid 2000 for four nights with a sexc 18 yo... all of the above has taken place in the past year or 15 months... it would be a shame to have guys over pay these girls as there are some guys out there that pay way too much and ruin it for others ... at the end of the day its supply and demand.. thats my two cents anyway.. good luck.

(caros., LD, LDS (non-feature), peppermint, classroom, etc, etc, etc) I've paid 2k on rare occasion in PATTAYA, and I'm 1k or less elsewhere (beer bars, soi 6, soi 2/3). If that's outa my ass, then start lapping it up.

I have YET to pay a girl in Thailand to fuck, however the price to make them leave afterwards can be high...

I didn't claim what is or is not a going rate. I said what I paid. I've always used 1500 at the gogo standard paid to the gal in pattaya (2k in bkk) and 1k lt elsewhere in pattaya-- never occured to me this deviated much from everyone else in the world... In fact, epi chastised me for paying to much for shagging on soi 6 a couple trips ago...

If you consider that BRAGGING or somehow put-off by the "claim", prozac might help...
