Just a word of warning to any amongst of us who have had this in past as I have. Had seafood last night which was fine but it must be the season where the specific algae are blooming with toxin because 24 hours after consumption I am moving like an old man and have no body temp control.
I got hit years ago in Cape San Blass FL with a grouper that had massive amount of the toxins and had massive allergic attack for three days.. just about scratched my skin off and spine felt like someone had snuck in and bolted it rigid.
Last night had seafood at the place I wote about just before Angelwitch and food was fine but as I say it must have had traces of the samne toxins ( not the restuarants fault). Once you have had ciguatera poisoning you are forever sensitized and generally within 24 hours of consuming it again you are exhibiting painful symptoms...
I might even go and get a theraputic back massage
So if you know you have had Ciguatera posisning then suggest if in Patayya stay away from the seafood.. bummer I know.. if you have ever just about scrtached yourself to ;point of bleeding expecially on buttocks and stomach and upper chest and generally felt like shite with inability to thermoregulate ( i.e swing between hot and cold) as well as intense joint pain then you may have been exposed.
Nothing to do with the food being off or bad rather just a toxin that the algae on the reefs produce at certain times of year which is eaten and concentrated up the food chain.
Its no fun

Not exactly the type of report I wanted to be posting tonight but I know for some of you this is a once a year trip and to come down with this exxpecially if you have had it before and thus more sensitiuve to it would be crying shame.
Im here ever 3-4 weeks so hopefully one night spent hobbling around my hotel room aint that big a deal.
Cheers
