I suppose this AC noob question could go under world traveler tips or men's health, but it is really a location specific question.

In terms of avoiding travelers diarrhea, is it advisable to avoid the water in:

a) Hotels and hotel ice (ie, Central Park, Pacific Breeze)? Avoid for tooth brushing and eyes in shower?

b) Frosty drinks at bars and restaurants (if they even exist there) such as ritas and daquiris?

Also, if you must buy bottle water, where to you buy it to be sure it isn't just shrink-wrapped tap water?

I never had trouble with the water in AC, eating/drinking in numerous establishments throughout. Which seems miraculous, considering what a shithole AC is overall.

As a general rule, avoid potentially unwashed vegetables such as in salads.

Don't drink the tap water.

The ice is deliver to the bars and resturants made from purified water. Any water you get will be bottled water and safe from bars and resturants.

You can brush your teeth with tap water just don't swallow. However, myself, I choose not to, but on acassion when I run out of bottled water I do without a problem.

I Buy bottled water at JJ supermarket.

"The ice is deliver to the bars and restaurants made from purified water."

Awesome. Good info. I mainly like my alcohol in frosty drinks, which I presume will only be more the case in a nice cool place like PI in June. Yes, I get shit for it, thank you very much. When I used to dine with my ex, waiters would always give her beer to me and give my strawberry swirl margarita to her...

I tend to used comon sense and to the point;
- No drink tap water, period!!! unless you want the "Montezuma Revenge".
-I ALWAYS used bottle water to brush my teeth, as much as possible, if not, make sure you have a GOOD mouth wash bottle ready to rinse your mouth with. of course, don't swallow tap water if used to rinse your mouth!!!
-in general, and i mean the good hotels, not the "cheap corner holes", would be glad to give some ice in a bucket, IF you ask for it. otherwise, have your drinks in the fridge.///
