Headed back to BKK within a few weeks; absent since 07. Wish to vary hotel locale from immediate vicinity NEP closer to SC. No particular reason except have done NEP 3 times and wish to explore a slightly different venue (unless gentlemen I am way off the mark. Am I?) Any suggestions please for nice comfortable friendly joinder hotel most appreciated. Price not a major concern but, 5 star not required either. Thanks much

i'm partial to soi cowboy and stay at president park on soi 22. but it is not immediate vicinity of cowboy (but i'd say it is close enough). 30thb motobike ride gets you to soi 18 and sukhumvit. then i use the footbridge at 18 to cross over sukhumvit and stroll down soi 23 to cowboy. i think the daily rate is around 1,500-1700thb.

the drop inn is closer and i think a bit cheaper.

there is a citadines on soi 23. i looked at these rooms, okay for a short stay but i was staying for over a month. some guys have stayed at key hotel and grand millenium (which are very close). i think a new place, sukhumivit suites, just opened and it is right there also.

You can try Adelphi Suites on Soi 8 - it's about half way between NEP and Cowboy. Meets all the criteria listed in your post, and it's very convenient (Lólita's right around the corner). There's a thread in the Bangkok hotels section with photos of the place.
