I have a full report to give on this trip, but I am publishing this separate report about Rainbow 4 bar, which is located on the 2nd floor of the Nana complex in Bangkok. Here is the story in a nutshell:

I foolishly barfined a girl I have known and trusted for years for a whole month. This is 10,000 THB or roughly $300. A day after I barfined her, she bailed on me and I never saw her again. I went back to the bar and demanded my money back. They refused to refund any money, thinking they can rip us off without having to fear a retaliation. Well, I think it would be a good idea for everyone to avoid this place for a while. I myself will never go back, even though this bar is one of the largest at Nana and has several beautiful girls.

There are lessons to learn from this, of course. Don't trust a girl just because you've known her for years. (A bar girl can go crazy any day.) Do not give big money to bars without getting a receipt so you can take your case to the police if necessary. No decent girl will expect a barfine if you are going to keep her for a whole month. She can just take that time off.

Another lesson - pay as you go. Barfining long time is just an invitation to getting ripped off. Sorry for your troubles and will look forward to your full report.

Never long time barfine, one fav I've known for awhile, ask if I wanted to pay her steady BF IN AC as I was there for 3 weeks she said it would be cheaper for me, I said no, I'll just pay 3 or 4 days advance like before, come to find out she had been steady BFed and could not stay in AC, thankfully I didn't pay the steady BF.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I can see after knowing the girl for years why you may have thought you could trust her.

Too many guys have been burned thinking Thai BG relationships can lead to more than being a customer, especially if you're a repeat customer. For all intents and purposes they can't unless you marry one, but that often goes awry as well.

I wrote off Bangkok as a been there, done that a few years back as within about 1 year, barfines have almost completely gone to STs and the girls are demanding almost twice what they used to for LT with a nighttime and morning session. To sum it up, Bangkok is an unfun tourist trap now.

Bar-fining up front is just like paying up front. Never do it.

this is interesting. a go go bar girl in bkk doesn't have to work much to generate 10,000thb (work thurs-sun and it should be "in the bank"). why would she even bother setting up the "scam" ?

i can only think she wanted to end the friendship and didn't have the guts to just come out and say it. so she set up this drama instead.

Barfine the girl for one day, tell her what you want and she will tell the owners that she`s going back home for a week and you can have her for that time without paying the barfine.

A receipt? They're not going to document a illegal activity. 10K THB is peanuts compared to some guys getting taken for.
Why would the bar care, unless you gave the mamasan 10K THB and if you did...why?

"The day after" so you did, get to nail her for one night at least.

Lesson learned? - pay at the end.

chalk it up to a lesson learned and move on. Too bad, but look on the bright side, your not stuck with the same tired BG all month.

Im with Buick on this one 10K is nothing to a good looking girl so why she would committ for a month.... its funny but we all get our emotions in front of business realities.... yes she had been known for a long time and she probabaly didnt want to say NO to the 10K even though it was not an attractive amount for the month ( seeing she can earn that in 2-3 nights) so when in doubt the Thai people will dodge or run away from the problem.
Of course next time you see her she will tel you about er mother who suddenly developed a life threatening illness that demanded her bedside prescence....

The 10K was paid to the bar as barfine, not to her. Her fee was another matter altogether.

Thank Heaven, I did not pre-pay her like I pre-paid the bar, so I was able to cut her payments when she bailed. Had I pre-paid her, this lesson would have been way more painful and the rest of my month a lot less active.

I would think if you paid the bar, she'll only see 40% of that. You should of work some deal out with her and the hell with the bar. Better yet, give her your mobile #, and tell her you have a deal she wouldnt refuse.
This way, the money flows right into her pocket.
She didnt screw you, the bar did.
I used to go to Rainbow 4 at 1:45am and tell a girl to meet me, at the nana hotel parking lot in 20 min, so I can avoid the BF. How about that for being cheap!
