For versatility I detached and modified the straps so they connect to the cuffs with cheap carabiners and got a $3 spool of clothesline from Walmart to run under the mattress to hold the things together. You can make loops in the clothesline with miniature zip-ties for convenient attach points. If you re-use the modified 2 piece straps the cheaper economy cuffs work pretty well if you cut off their straps and use the 2 piece straps
