BATS is a club with a live band located in the basement of the Shangri-La Hotel. I went here on a Sunday night in December and was not very impressed with the level of talent. The guys here were almost all bules. Probably a mixture of expats and businessmen.
The few doable ladies were quickly engaged in conversation with one of the many men here. I was approached by a number of ladies that were out of my doable range. I have to say that they all spoke pretty good English.
I approached one lady who was not the hotest lady in the club, but in my doable range. She wanted 1M Rupiah for all night. I told her that I was only interested in short time. After a fair amount of thought, she said that she would go short time for 700K Rupiah. It was obvious that she wasn't happy about doing short time. Her whole attitude was that she really needed to get 1M Rupiah, but was willing to cut me a big break go short time for 700K. My efforts to neg. a better deal were not received well. I ended up passing.
