Last night, as I was sipping a cappuccino and speaking poetry to my favorite putas, some folks came in to make a routine stop and make sure everyone was behaving themselves. When I say some, I mean about 100. When I say folks, I mean cops.

At about 9:30pm, prime time on a Friday night, the local gendarme conducted a raid of the Hotel Del Rey. They came in en masse, and blocked all the exits. Taking cedulas from the girls and shaking up, or rather, shaking down, the hotel management. We were not permitted to leave for at least 40-50 minutes while they got their point across to hotel management. Whatever that point would be...




Outside, they had blocked the street off in several directions, preventing anyone from entering or exiting.

Looking for illegals? If any kind of immigration was there and I was a Colombinana, Dominicana on an expired visa I would have shit a brick. Bye Bye!

Raiding the Del Rey is a common occurrence, it happens several times a year. The cops are usually looking for foreigners who have outstayed their visa.
