What is temp's at night? Temp's in Daylight? Does it rain most of the time? Umbrella's necessary? Shorts and short sleeve shirts ok? Jackets necessary?
Just any information about weather and how to dress would be appreciated for Aug 7 to 15.
thanks in advance,

It's shirtsleeve weather during the day but you might want a light water-resistant jacket sometimes at night. I'd either bring an umbrella or buy one here - they're cheap here. You'll get rain for part of the day, usually in the afternoon or early evening, 2 days out of 3. It's usually fairly light and may last for two or three hours, but occasionally it rains all day and we get a few heavy rains as well. I've seldom found the rain to interfere with my plans, except if you are planning to go into the mountains or the volcanos. You'll want a jacket in the mountains.
Jeans and t-shirts are fine in San Jose. You can wear shorts if you want, but no one else except Gringo tourists wears them in the city. Of course shorts are worn by everyone at the beach.
I'd probably pack one pair of decent slacks and a sport shirt of some type, either pull-over or button-up, in case you deciide to go to one of the better restaurants. You don't need a jacket anywhere.
Except in the mountains, you won't find any temperatures lower than the low 60's or upper 50's and, except at the beach, the highs will generally run in the upper 70's to low 80's.
