Tin Ho has many different dishes, is not very expensive and is only steps away from Lucy's and Idem. If you want really great italian food you must try the El Balcon de Europa at Avenida Ctral y 1, Calle 9, just down the street from the Delray and El President. Most of all I wish I could give you the name of the place just outside of Jaco on the beach from SJ that served 3 lobsters cut in half and grilled to prefection for 15 dollars. I am sure any local taxi would know were this place is. All in all the food in Costa Rica was very tasty, do not be afraid to try some road side dishes. One last thing stay with seafood, fish and chicken when choosing your meal.
I always had a good meal at Tin Jo. They have Chinese and Thai dishes and a large Vegetarian menu if that's your thing.
HC1 I took my favorita there one night and made the mistake of letting her order whatever she wanted. $20 later, she leaned back, belched and started rubbing her bloated belly.
Tell me. In latin cultures, is it my place as the man to order for her? I could've gotten her full on $5
If she wasn't one of the best sword-swallowers I'd ever been with, I might've been pissed at how she ran up the tab.
DG-I don't usually order for them. A lot of times Latinas will order expensive items or a lot to eat because they rarely go out and have a hard time controlling themselves. If they ordered 2 lobsters or something I might say no, but I like to let them order what they want themself.
I have fond memories of a favorita in San Jose I took out to dinner at a local pork restaurant. This little waif that weighed maybe 95 lbs ate at least a pound of fried pork fat. She unbuttoned and unzipped her jeans and let her little belly hang out after. I kept laughing at her and she didn't see what was funny. She said she always did that when she went out to eat.
The concierge at the Del Rey recommended Tin Jo, so I headed over there for lunch, figuring on an after-lunch visit to Idem. The food was great and moderately priced. Unfortunately, there was not a soul in Idem after a late luch!
