The big strip clubs are high pressure $20 a drink rip off traps. Local smaller strip clubs are difficult to find because Taxi cab drivers want to take you only to the big rip-off strip clubs where they collect a sizeable fee for your delivery.

I like to goto strip clubs as a primer for my later evening excursions. I finally found a decent strip club which some local guys suggested called "Club International” where I had a great time.

The place had a refreshing local feel which was a nice change from the Mafioso rip – off type places like Platinum or Elite. The place is reasonably priced: Corona’s $3.25 and wine for the ladies about $5 (vs $20 at Platinum or Elite). The Tico owner was there and seemed like a friendly fellow named Claudio.

There were fewer women at International and the quality was not quite as good as Platinum.
