Machu Picchu is a very interesting resturants-they have two locations-one near a big Kentucy Fried Resturant and one in a more upscale part of San Jose-as a practical tip-find their ad in the yellow pages and tear out the ad and give it to your cab driver-I have been to both of them-I prefered the one near the Kentucy Fried-they serve a lot of sea food with a number of sea bass dishes as well as a steak stir fired type dish that I liked as well as a chicken dish I never got around too. I really liked the cold mashed potato appetizer stuffed with either small shrip or chicken with avocado and lime and coated with what is called a creole sause- It is a unique a delicious item in my experience. Pisco sours are ok also-prices reasonable-service good and friendly-I attach pics of the masshed potato appetizer and the loin steak with vegetables.
You could take your well behaved Blue Marlin girl to the one near The Kentucy Fried as it gets a lot more gingos-they one in one in the more upsclae area nothing would be said of course but the costa rican matrons there might give you the fish eye!
