The current entrance to Chalet Suizo is located on the west side of of Avenida 7 between Calle 14 and Calle 15. The original entrance and address were on the south side of Calle 14.
I stayed in three different hotels, but I only visited here and Las Torres in Zone 10.
Chalet Suizo is supposedly one of the most popular low-budget hotels with singles coming in at approximately $20 per night if you want a private bathroom, less if you don't mind shared bathrooms. The hotel is said to be guest-friendly.
The room I saw appeared clean but bare with little more than essential furnishings.
Despite the low price and guest-friendly reputation, I decided against staying here as it appeared less comfortable and less secure than the hotels where I stayed. The hotel also had the feel of a place mainly visited by backpackers on a budget, I didn't think I'd feel comfortable parading guests here in front of western ladies nor bringing them to plain and cheap-looking rooms.
The surrounding area is Zone 1, the city's central downtown area where many landmarks, shops, and restaurants are located. There are supposedly a few clubs of lower quality here, but I didn't visit any. Most of the clubs are located in Zone 9, a good distance south on the other side of the city.
