I will be traveling back to San Jose at the end of May. Last time I stayed at the Hotel Presidente but this time I'd like to get a condo for the week. Anybody have any suggestions?
I might stay in San Jose a day or two, then go to the Coast, to a beach for 3-4 days, then back to San Jose. Where would be a good beach to find the night life you do in SJ?
Thanks ALL!

I was recently in Quepos which has wonderful beach at Manuel Antonio. Too bad for me that I was with a group that made mongering out of the question. I did manage to sneak over to Club Itzamana which had some lookers but it was too expensive. US125 for an hour or US200 for all night. As far as I could tell the professional services were lacking in the area. I think that the amateur/semi-professional action would be excellent however my circumstances didn't permit finding out. Regardless, lots of good housing opportunities in the area. I recommend finding something in Manuel Antonio rather than Quepos.
Jaco might be a possibility. Also has a nice beach. But I couldn't get a feel for professional services. Any reports from Jaco?

Many of the women that live in the smaller towns
come into San Jose on the weekends to work. There
are small bars in some of these towns, but its
hit or miss. You should also speak some spanish as
there is little english spoken.I usually bring
a woman from san jose with me to the beaches for a
few days. Also, most of the beach hotels have a tico
rate and a gringo rate.If I sit in the car and have the tica rent the hotel room, the rate can be as little as half!Be sure that you enjoy the company of your guest because 2-3 days with someone you dont get along with well can seem like
an eternity.I have seen men take off for 3 days with one they met 20 minutes ago and have a terrible time.Skip Jaco and head for the beaches up by the Nicaraguan border.try Flamingo Beach and
others in the same area. There is a resort at Flamingo that has private jacuzzis on the balcony
of each room for about $70 a nite
