Strengthen your body for the next workout ;-):

Restaurant Martin Fierro, Calle Eusebio A. Morales No. 21 (El Cangrejo) - best steak ever!

Multicentro, 3 or 4 floor, foodcorner, first restaurant left side => cheap and great food!

There are a few places I like:

The Wine Bar - Italian food is fine, but they have a great selection of wines and cheese from around the world. Most evenings they have live jazz music. Great place to take a chica for a relaxing evening. Price - Reasonable ($10-12 per person to outrageous if you buy a $1,000 bottle of wine). Sorry, I don't know the address, but if you walk down the street that the Oasis massage parlor and Manolo's Restaurant are on keeping via Espana behind you...at the first major intersection it will be across the street on the right hand side. Also, it is across the street from National Car Rental...if you know where that is.

Viejo Piepo - Great Italian Restaurant. Reasonable prices ($12-$14). They make their own pasta. Corvina de Gorgonzola is excellent. One block in from Balboa Ave behind the bank with the large white concrete sloped design. Driving west on Balboa, when you pass the Miramar Towers look for this bank just after the park on your right. After you pass the bank, take a right. Viejo Piepo will be one block in on your left.

Benegan's - Though a franchise in the states, the Panama owners make sure that their food is top notch. I love having dinner there in the evening at a table by the window overlooking Paitilla and the waterfront. Very good looking women all over that complex most evenings. Located on Balboa Ave in what is called Plaza Balboa...between Paitilla and Bella Vista...if you have a map. All taxi drivers know this place.

Restaurant Hotel Aculpulco - Excellent cheap home cooked food anytime of the day. For desert, fresh fruit chunks (chilled papaya, pineapple, watermelon & catalope mix, or all of one kind if you choose) and a cafe de leche (real coffee...not like what we get in the states, with froth steamed milk...I add sugar and enjoy). Tell your cab driver Hotel Aculpulco...or Hotel Lisboa...or Hotel Benedorm...they are all next to each other...find any of these hotels and you will find the restaurant. By the way, these hotels are $20 a night and very comfortable.

Avenue via Argentina - This canopy draped street has many good restaurants...lot of local type cuisine...very tasty and reasonably priced. Taxi drivers know this place. Also, after dinner...walk to Relax Oriental or the River Club for a massage and fuck.

I copied this from an Ex-Pat Panama Yahoo discussion group. An American living in Panama listed these additional restaurants as good places to eat:

1. Fontanella Restaurant.......Ave. Israel & 71East street: it is good Italian.

2. Los Años Locos,,,,,, on 76E street, the other side of the Ceasar Park entrance. Good for Filete, Corvina, and Seafood. Excellent

3. Alandaluz Restaurant. Calle 50/ 72Oeste almost across from Arrocha from Calle 50. Excellent seafood restaurant. One of my favorites.

4. Fierenze Across from Jimmy´s, another good international cuisine restaurant.

5. Just further up from Los Años Locos, but on 75E street is a new Cuban restaurant.

6. Behind Atlapa near Jimmys, but on the Ceasar Park side of the main drive is a new Peruvian food restaurant.

7. Steinbocks Restaurant. Two blocks down from Jimmy´s on the same side of the street, heading towards Old Panama,,,, Best German restaurant in Panama. Actually looks & smells( beer & cigarettes) like the real German restaurants I enjoyed when I lived in Bavaria from 1997-2000. Paneled wood walls, wooden bench tables, excellent bar. Excellent fried camenbert cheese with cranberries, Yaeger Schnitzel, Sigorney Schnitzel, German Sausages, Pork knuckles, and a variety of dunkels bier, Hefe weisen bier----all the best German beer in Panama. Enjoy, the food is good in all of them. charly

I'm always looking for a good restaurant with good food, service at reasonable prices.

Next time I go to Panama I'll need to hunt some of these places down.

Thanks.

We hit Los Anos Locos last night. The food was disappointing and the prices were at American rates (low but still high for Panama).

We are going to Shulas II tonight most likely so I'll let you know.

We ended up not going to Shulas II in favor of a place called Nikos Cafe.

Its a 24 hour chain restaurant that is basically a cafeteria.

The food here was really good and was dirt cheap. I ate quite well for less than $6. My buddies ate for less than $4. You can get breakfast for $2!

Damn!

By the way, the restuarant across from the Multicentro Casino in the Raddison hotel is quite good and fairly reasonable.

I had a Filet for $9 and earlier in the day I had something called "Bangkok Rice" for $9. Both very good.

We tried Churrasquaria Rodizio this evening.

This works out to about $50 a person. Just as good as Brazilian places (not Marius or Porcao however) but way overpriced.

Nice reporting Sniper, There is a Cuban restaurant called Bolero located by the bay.
Very nice and excellent food. Also they have a small bar/nightclub downstairs.
