I am going to be in the Puerto Viejo area for several days at the end of the month. This is a popular destination for the backpacker snorkling surfer crowd. There are many low cost options for accomodations along the beach, but I haven't seen any information about the local scene for other activities. Can I assume it is a catch as catch can situation, with local talent available to be a GFE for a few days at a time if they like you. Any information about this area much appreciated.
