Hello all,

New here and first time trip to Panama. Are there any nice Chica friendly Hotels close to the Panama City International Airport? I do not know the area at all, a short walking distance to the airport would be great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Why would you want to stay around the airport? I'm not sure if there's a hotel there or not but it's out in the middle of the fields anyways, nothing around for miles.

Are you on a short layover or something?

Sorry RKZ, Cat is right. There is nothing close to Tocumen to stay at in fact your closest is probably 25 minutes away on the outskirts of downtown (via the beach toll road).

Guys this is not correct. Right outside the airport is the Riande Continental Hotel numero II. The main one is on Via Espania.

I have actually spent quite a bit of time in Panama City. These guys are correct in that there is not much happening in that area; Los Pueblos is right down the street and you may find something to do there, but for a few bucks and a half hour cab ride you can be at the Riande Continental on Via Espania, and this place is very chica friendly with front and back entrances, elevators in the back if necessary to sneek your chica up without the front desk seeing you.

It is worth it to get up a little earlier or go out of your way a little to stay in the city, since as you will read from the other Panama posts there is a good amount of talent there if you know where to look and study Alecjamers Guide will enough.

It was only about 20-25 minutes, if that, from the hotel to the Courtyard at Punta Pacifica. The new express tollway along the ocean is awesome - much better than the bouncing, slow trip in on Via Espana.

Rkzoomi -

Go to Google Earth and zoom in on Panama City. To the East of the city you will see Tocumen International Airport (Panama Metropolitan Airport)...between city proper and where farmland begins. Just to the East of the Panama Canal (somewhat centrally within the city) you will see Albrook Airport (a regional airport). To the West of the Panama Canal you will see the former US Howard Air Force Base.

When you fly-in to Panama you will arrive at Tocumen. Travel-time from Tocumen to city center via the Corridor del Sur (Southern Tollway) is usually a little under 30-minutes. Cab fare will run about $25-$30 each way, plus tolls...another $3 or so.

All the chica action is centrally located within the city.

If you have only limited time due to a short lay-over, I suggest you hire a cab to take you directly from the airport to the massage parlor Royal Elegance Center (located on via Porass). This MP is probably the closest to the airport (probably about 35-45 minutes by cab assuming traffic is moving). I'd give myself at least 3-hours to get there, get laid and get back with another 1.5 hours at the airport to get re-checked and through security...(minimum total 4.5 hours between departure from the front of the airport and departure of your flight). Anything less than that and you'd risk missing your connection.

However, if you are suggesting that you want to stay close to the airport because you are unfamiliar with Panama...and you plan to stay in Panama for at least a few days...then by all means...stay at any of the hundreds of hotels centrally located in the city. Don't worry about how to get back to the airport because being a newbie there is no way on hell you will get a rental car and be able to successfully navigate the city anyway. Panama City is a maze of one ways and there is no way to travel from point A to point B and still return the same way.

Instead, you will tell taxi drivers where you want to go and they will get you there.

As SP suggested, study my guides and read the threads on Panama...also consider seeking a trip buddy.

Enjoy your trip.

Steve,

Thanks for the heads up on the Riande near the airport. Hell, I've been to PC 37 times and have never seen or heard of it (by the airport). Used to stay at the one on Via Espania all the time. Where is it in relation to the airport. Would one see it coming or going from Tocumen to downtown? Hell, all I ever saw was fields of tall grass and shantys (along the old route through the city). Then again, maybe I had other things on my mind when I arrived and was in a slump when I was departing (or hungover)...LOL

Just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks.
