Hey there,

I'm taking a trip in August to Costa Rica and wanted some opinions on a few topics

First, I will be staying in san Jose the first two nights. Where do you recommend going to get fine quality ticas that will come home with you. Also do message parlors charge you any kind of room or accomodation fee when getting 'serviced'.

Secondly, I am debating on going to tamarindo or Jaco. What are the pro's and cons of both these places. In terms of ticas, Beaches, bars.

Lastly, During my trip I plan on going white water rafting and rainforest zipcording. Would being in tamarindo be a burden distance wise from doing any of these activities.

Thanks for the help..

Well, the old standby is the Blue Marlin, or go accross the street to Casablanca if it's your first visit..otherwise ask some of the guys at the BM and they will steer you to other places..

I have been to Jaco twice and liked it. I have not been to Tamarindo so I cant comment on it. The beatle bar is where are the professional girls hang out. It is a small town and you can walk from one bar to another. I would say it is more laid back and not upscale. There are people there to party and chase women and others are there to surf.

Los Suenos is really nice which is close to Jaco and has 18 hole golf and fishing. If you stay there you have to take a cab to the action. Or you can stay in Jaco and pretty much walk everywhere. I havent been since 2004 so I am sure it has changed a lot since then.

In San Jose the Blue Marlin is fun but it is mostly for short sessions. It is a bar, restarunt and casino all in one. It is a good place to people watch and check out the action. They use ping pong balls for roulette instead of a real roulette wheel. There is a lot of action in San Jose so I would do some research.

I just got back from San Jose and it is still a good spot. Yes, it is true, short session from $60-$100 depend on the girls. They leave as soon as the job is done. Please keep the price as close to 60 as you can but you are there to have a good time..80-100 is not a problem but we are completing against ourselves...there are so many women there. it is unbelievable unless you have seen it all and done it all. The massage place is not so nice or clean but worth the test. $20 for half hour session and $40 for an hour. Fantasy is a good place to go and another place call Iden which is $2 or $5 more but better since you can talk to the girl before the session. Fantasy is good but you can only pick them from the window and no interaction before picking them. If strip club is your thing, then try Atlantis, which is $20 and comes with 3 drinks. $45 for VIP and your can TOUCH and FEEL. if you want more, they want $300 but they always want more. Spend a little more time and drink then you can you do them in VIP for $100 instead of $300. Sorry no pictures. I am still new on the site but I just on my way back and actually at the airport writing this. Overall, stay at Del Rey hotel or Hotel Presidente if it is your first time. Presidente is better because no cost to bring girls up to your room. It cost $10 at Del Rey to bring the girl up each time no matter if it is the same one. Rooms are from $70 and up at del rey and i am not sure about Presidente but I heard it is a little cheaper but nicer and again no charge for the lady. If you are a taking 3 or 4 per night, they all can add up quick. It was my first time in Costa Rica. I still like it very much compare to Panama City, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador...It all depends on what you are looking for. Price, Time with the Girls, and the time that it takes you to fly to Costa Rica. Good luck, have fun, enjoy and be safe.
