Hey fellahs-

I'm going to CR for the first time, heading directly to Jaco Beach to surf and do a little night life samplin'

Any rec's on decent hotels near the beach to stay at? Also what are the great bars for puss hounding?

Anybody else going to be there, want to hook for brews-- I'm going Feb 3 for a week or so...

Most the hotels in Jaco are pretty shitty. I have rented condos at Los Suenos before, about 20 minutes outside of town. If you insist on staying in Jaco, try the Copa Cabana. I stayed there a few months ago. They will charge you a "Tica fee" for having a guest. I think that it was like $15 or $25. Other than that, the accomodations were acceptable. The good thing about the Copa is that it is right across the street from the Beetle Bar (although you could still probably get mugged as you have to walk down a dark alley!).
