Hi Everyone,

I will be making my annual San Jose trip this August, but this time possibly for as long as three weeks. For a stay that long, I am looking for options that might end up running me a bit less than the Presidente (my typical choice). I haven't had terrific luck with lower budget hotels like Hotel Bella Vista and Internet Rey Amon because I feel like I lacked privacy and autonomy while staying there, and am looking for other ideas.

My trip this year will be partial vacation and partial academic retreat, where I will be spending some time alone studying, so I don't need something fancy as much as I need something simple and chica-friendly. Does anyone have suggestions? I am thinking that a small apartment somewhere for a month might be a good option; can anyone give me further insight or an even better idea? I stayed at Hotel Del Bolivar for 4 days last year. Its about 2 blocks from Hotel Costa Rica about a 5-10 minute walk to the Del Rey and close to everything. I think the cost was $30 a night and they would have offered a cheaper rate $20-25 a night if I paid them for a week in advance. I was bringing 2 chicas a day back and there was never a charge.The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly

The Hotel Del Rey cuts extended stay deals if you pay up front in cash. You need to ask one of the managers for such a deal.
