I am heading to CR in Dec. for business. I speak fluent Spanish and have read a ton of mixed reviews about the Del Rey lately. Is their a better hotel for someone who is fluent and going for their first time. btw, I have been to Panama 3x and always stay at the Veneto. I am looking for something comparable in CR.

Thanks CFK, I checked it out and have continued reading posts, if you had a choice, where woudl you stay, the Amon Plaza or Del Rey?

I would stay at the DelRey, constant 24/7 action for everything. Additionally, Casablancas across the street for dancing and more of the same. Hit New Fantasy a few blocks away for some day action and good steam/massage, etc.

Key Largo is the place across the street. Casablanca is another movie that Bogie was in.

Thanks Bliss, you know I ALWAYS get that name screwed up. I think of Humphrey Bogart every time for some crazy reason, and then Casablanca pops into my head. I suppose it could have been worse, I could be trying to set him up with a girl that goes by the name the African Queen. Now Jaguar would jump at an offer like that!
