Hello fellow travellers. I just got back from a bang fest in Panama City during their Carnaval. Carnaval sucked but the lodging I found was absolutely superb. There were 5 of us staying here. Their URL is: panamavacationquarters.com. The property is also listed on the www.vrbo site where I found it. The building is 5-20 minutes by cab to anything worth touring in the city located in a quiet, gated community built on the remains of an old quarry used for building the canal.
Our building was a former officer's quarters and the owner is VERY chica friendly and doesn't mind if you bring girls in. We had 2 "house parties" with some whores from club Elite and Miami who stopped by on their days off.
Three of us rented a 2 story 3 BR 2 1/2 bath unit for 7 days for $1,500. The other 2 guys rented a 2 BR for $900. Do the math, cheaper per night then a cock blocking hotel in the city. Good luck and happy hounding.

I don't know, guy, you can spend less than US$100 a day for nice chica-friendly places in the city. I personally would never share a place with other guys, but for those that do, it can save some money.

We stayed for 7 nights and our costs came out to $72.00 a day for an excellent crib. Take $1,500 divided by 3 persons divided by 7 nights. There was absolutely NO noise or crime and the neighborhhod was gated. As an added bonus our building was right on the access road to the summit of Ancon Hill. You know the one with the huge Panamanian flag on the summit that can be seen from all over the city. Excellent views BTW. We had tons of space and the central AC was very comfortable and the kitchen was really nice. We were not at all crowding each other out and our bedrooms were really comfortable. Even the girls loved the place. If I was ever exiled to Panama City, this is exactly the place I'd want to live in. Our neighbors in the building and adjacent buildings had NO idea what we were up to. Trust me on this one. Take care.

Yeah, they had no idea what a bunch of hookers hanging out with three gringos were up to the whole week
Not that it's important, but again, there are lots of good places that are cheaper and closer to the action and that don't have all the potential issues of sharing a place with others brings.

Geolopes -
I know where you are talking about. You were up on the hill behind Gorgas hospital. Very nice and quiet there. Some investors purchased the former unaccompanied officer's dorms and converted them into condo units for tourists.
Yes, they are nice and you are up and away from the beaten trail of the city. Also, lots of tropical wildlife...birds, monkeys, sloths, iguanas, kudamundays & those rabbit sized rat-hogs (I forget what they call them) & flowers and orchids, etc. My novia and I met one of the owners and he gave us a tour. Although nice, considering the price I knew I could find other suitable quarters to bang my lovely for a much lower price.
Also, given that these places are on the hill semi-submerged in the jungle, I knew mornings might be a bitch when all of the jungle birds start their "thing" at 6am. Unless you have an a/c unit providing white-noise or if you are a super heavy sleeper...mornings can come pretty damn early in the remoter area of Panama City around Quarry-Heights.
When you have a small group of people willing to share costs I think an apartment or condo for short-term rent really is the way to go. However, given that most whore mongers (like myself) operate solo...I just don't need the floorspace or the added price.
Whereas you paid $72 per day, I pay only $30 or so for my lodging in the city.
Also, since you mentioned it...in case anyone was wondering...if you are looking to take your chica out somewhere for an afternoon of exploring...consider taking her to the top of Ancon Hill (when the weather is good). It is really worthwhile at no cost and chances are she has never been there. (It is amazing that most everyone in Panama City grows-up seeing the big flag at the top of Ancon Hill...but they never think to go there...they probably assume it is gated shut or off limits. I took 3 chicas up there over the past 2-years. They absolutely loved it and then each were dumbfounded why it took a gringo to show them something in their own backyard).
The road up Ancon Hill is paved (and cracked) single lane, but the park rangers (cops) use radio to either send cars up or clear cars to come down. Near the top of Ancon Hill is a parking lot. From there you can hike another 100 yards or so towards the flag. Just before the flag they have some park benches, a few statues and plaques. The view on a clear day is great...in one direction you can see the Bridge of Americas and the Port of Balboa, the old Albrook field, then on the otherside you can see all of Chorrera and the area of the city that surrounds Paitilla, El Congrejo and Caledonia. Be sure to take your camera.
Also, if you are really adventuresome, you can hike all the way to the top. My primary novia and our friend "the cab driver" parked his cab at the base of the hill and together walked up the paved road to the top of the hill chatting (it was nice and quiet making it easy to have a conversation). If you are in pretty good shape and enjoy that sort of thing, it is a great workout. It took us about 1 to 1/2 hours to make it to the top and only 40 minutes or so to get down. We worked-up a good appetite then headed to the Causeway for lunch and some ice-cold beers and a/c.

Tx again AJ for your excellent info, all correct I might ad. The owners of this building have smaller units and the on-site property manager told me they have one hotel like room in the building. I'm sure the website has the price. The A/C and ceiling fan covered any wildlife noise. I actually slept like a dog. The owner had dual Panamanian/US citizenship and is down with our gringo ways. You can call him on his US phone, lives in Texas, and talk with him about his place. I was completely upfron about our banging bitches down there and he could care less. Yes, you can find a cheaper place, but the value for the money here was excellent and the safety and tranquility was really unbelievable, yet only minutes away from all the action. Just a thought.
