I was just there in January for two weeks, hung out in Laurelas, so much to do there. Many restaurants, bars and discos on La 33 and La 70. Walking up and down the side streets there were many small cheap restaurants to eat in.

I started to take the bus as well, for only 1,400 it would take you anywhere in the city.

I did a ton of walking and talking and exploring. Met many Paisas all over the city.

I was there for a month in November, 2 weeks I was on my own and then three buddies came in for two weeks.

I went to Centro most mornings to walk around, eat something and bullshit and practice my Spanish with some of the chicas I met at different shops.

Whats a trip with out a daily visit to Crepes and Waffles. All the chicas loved it.

Walking around Centro for 2 - 3 hours a day is a great way to meet chicas.

I spent more time this trip on La 33. It was a 5 minute walk from my hotel.

Actually, JimmyDR is right about Cll33. Tons of bars usually filled from Thursday to Sunday nights with non pros. Costs are much lower than Poblado bars and discos and much more reasonable than places like Mangos.Nothing gets started until after 10PM at night but by 2 to 3AM, the places are rocking. Warning...Music is incredibly loud!!!!!!! And there is no smoking inside any place in Medellin. Gotta go outside if you want t5o smoke.

If you can dance a little Salsa, Merengue or Cumbia, you will be in like flint. You won't see a lot of other gringos in these places so you will be something of a novelty.

As AZ said, a little Spanish is essential cause you won't find many in this area that speak English but be careful about what you might say to a friend cause one or two just might surprise you with their fluency.

Buy a big bottle of Aguardients and set up a few glasses on your table and start inviting them over for a drink.

You just might be in for a big surprise ending!!!

They will be here in droves from the local barrios as well as surrounding cities.

That's all fine and dandy and everything SM said is 100% true but I hate seeing wasted drunk stupid ass gringo tourists acting like complete bafoons and im not talking about only Americans, but Brits, Aussies, Dutch. They seem to come from everywhere these 10 days.

Price gouging is at an all time high and every single vendor (including the gringos renting apartments) will try and stick it to you at every single opportunity possible. I avoid it like the plague.
