Well I have been living here for nearly 3 years now and visiting for last 5. Allot has changed and yet allot has not. There are 2 new giant malls in last couple of years. One is Premium Plaza next door to Fase Dos ( which is as good as ever I might add) I would pass on that mall. The brand new one is 6 story Santa Fe, 6 stories tall and one of biggest in South America. I still prefer Oveido or Tesoro to go on a date though. Ave Poblado is just packed with cars at rush hour and so is the rest of medellin. Traffic is worse as the population is growing but roads are not. Pollution worse and worse. The girls are just as beautiful though. In Envigado two new supermarkets and tons of new apartments in the area off Frontera. Although I am still doing the girlfriend thing if you are new to Medellin and need a wingman cover my night and will show you around so you feel safe, my Spanish is good enough. I have helped more then a few guys with their anticipated moves here and where to stay etc. All the malls and supermarkets are open game to meet the girls, the employees working there. They work 6 days a week, 12 hours a day for 550,000 pesos a month. Almost slavery so these girls are game for taking out on a date and most fuck for free or for money if given the opportunity or if you want a girlfriend. You just need to know how to talk to them and be nice and ask them out (only problem is they are always working so dont have lots of time, many are single moms.

Still more stores opening all the time. Not sure of Movie Theater but probably as the place is really big - I think 6 floors +. I didn't spend much time there last Sunday. Definitely worth a visit. - Hemp

Mall Santa Fe is open, I was there a few days back. It is a huge, beautiful mall, 6 levels and has just about everything.

Jimmy: Do you still stay at Parcero's (gillettij)? I occasionally get funny emails from him but he doesn't seem to be answering emails concerning bookings or pricing? The Mansion/Castillo had some $50/night specials and I wanted to know if that was do-able with him. I need to get back to those Paisa honeys, when are your dates?

I found a few hotels in Laurelas that I stay in now, between $40 - $60 a night.

I like the Estaban and the Florida. My friend links the Lincoln. The longer you stay, the better the rates.

Hey guys, for us guys that drive Santa Fe only place that charges for parking lol. It has lots of chicks walking around so I place it now first as far as just Looking. I am now renting rooms again in my apt. Girlfriend finally let me do it again. I am in Envigado, awesome area walk to metro, huge supermarket and mcdonalds, currently 45 bucs a night.
Weather has been weird lately raining everyday and cooler. It is summer here but more like winter. Winter was sunny and no rain.. Just weird.

MM- San Diego, Monterrey, UniCentro and several others also charge for parking. Just plain stupid IMHO to charge clients for parking when they are coming there to buy but then again, this is Colombia!
How much can I make today mentality.

I am going to be moving soon to the Rio Negro area near the airport. I am looking forward to a new scene and fresh air, fresh air, fresh air!!!!! The Pollution and traffic is ruining Medellin as a place to live. ( Wont bother you if you dont care about getting cancer one day or decreasing your lifespan lol and this would only bother people thinking of Medellin as a place to live vs just visit. No worse then Manilla or other crowded third world countries. So I hope to report on this area of Antioquia in the future. I have a feeling it will be more of a non pro scene or cool to bring your girlfriend and visit. I may be renting out some rooms for those of you who want to see some other places outside of Medellin and the beautiful countryside, It is a good jump off to go see Penol the big lake and rock, Also Santa Elena and Llano Grande. I should have all the cool places to party, eat and things to see down after a few months. I am looking forward to working out there, and moving there with my girlfriend.
