I will be in Medellin for almost all of Dec 2012. I can't speak spanish. Are there many girls that can speak english? How would I find an appartment for a month?

That is a long way off (or a typo), you could start studying spanish now. Although you dont have to speak spanish, you will have a lot more fun if you speak some. Unless you are just there for business, the majority of the people you are going to run into are not going to speak english.

The only girl I went out with that spoke english was the receptionist at the hotel. You could start working the internet now and try and dig up english speakers. As far as program girls - zero.

I stayed in Medeliin several times for a month at a time. Always stayed at the Torre Poblado apt/hotel. Great location and price. Unless you are going to stay there long-term, seems like kind of a hassle to rent an apartment, although some guys do.

Some sage advice from AZguy. Although there are more English speaking girls in Medellin then any other city in Colombia, you will need to speak some Spanish. And if your trip is not until 2012 you have no excuse not to learn some basic Spanish. It will repay you 10 fold.

I was in Medellin recently on my first visit after going through the first series of Pimsleur Spanish (one of the favorite purveyors of language teaching for Hombres), which just got me a few words here and there, no fluency at all.

Now, I am studying Spanish intensively, so that the next time I go I will at least have some ability to communicate with the beautiful women there. I recommend the same for you.

Yes and no. Grab one of the abbreviated Pimsleur courses from Barnes and Noble (at a reasonable price in contrast to the full courses) and within a couple of weeks one can at least have rudimentary language skills, which is better than nothing.

You should know that in Rio you generally don't ask for a beijo negro, since it seems to have become a standard part of the Rio BBBJ. Bring along your Listerine if you're the queasy type.

You are absolutely right. I would venture to say about half the BJ's I get in Rio include beijo negro.
However my good friend AZGuy never seems to get one. So he is practicing how to request it. Can you pm him with a few Portuguese lessons?
