Can someone recommend furnished apartments in BA that rent by the week? Godfather´s places are too rich for my wallet.

Bendejo:
Here are a few websites you can check out for furnished apartments of all price ranges.
http://argentinago.com/default.php
http://www.alojargentina.com/indexEN.php
http://www.bytargentina.com/index.php?cambiolang=2
I have contacted each of the above companies in the past, but have exclusively used argentinago because of the relationships between many hombres and our contact Mayra. Mayra is very reliable and more information exists on her travel services on the must see Moondog Guide to Bs As.
My apartment rental experiences have been excellent but limited to Godfather's apartments so I cannot recommend another apartment to you.

I will stay in BA one year. 2005. Perhaps 3 month in Mar del Plata. It's a fantastic view.

Does anybody know I could get an escort up to my room in the Hilton without having to get her from the lobby? Don't want to risk collegues seeing me. thanks.

If having colleagues see you is a major concern, I would stick to incall places and short time hotels. They are tons of short time hotels in Recoleta and most pickup places have them nearby.
That way being seen won't be a concern for you. Ask the lady about which short time hotel is nearby. They always know one.

If anyones in Buenos Aires right now (7-10-04) can you tell me what the weather is like?
I'm considering going to BA next month.
Thanks
I jusy got back 8 july and was in ba all of august 2003. They are in the winter period right now. I am from New York and I use my fall jacket. I can only remeber two really cold days in august last year. In august it should be about lows 40 night to highs 50 days.

Thanks for the weather report.
So it shouldn't be that uncomfortable in August, is what it sounds like?

I am in Buenos Aires.....the humidity is high, which makes the chill seem worse than the temp would suggest....This being said, it does not freeze in BsAs....and on days when the sun is out, it can be quite pleasant even in the dead of winter.

Say guys, what is the word used in BA for "panocha"? The same word? Will be going in Sept and that's on the need to know list :-)
Thanks.
Bayboy
I'm not an expert in BA wheater but this is my experience from 2003, 27 August to 26 September; The temp. was 1C when I arrived. 4 days later in the afternoon it was 27C. This changes continued during the month I stayed.
The TV-news always has an temp.. Thereby you know the current degree. But it can change rather quickly so dress in a way that you can take off/on shirts. "Buenos Aires" means "The Good Air/Winds". The city gets fresh air often, from the south-east winds I think, that brings away the smog that continously starts to build up.
hopes this helpes

I just bought part of a travel agency there so I'm happy to help you guys find great hotels and apartments. I can set up airport pick up, cellphone rental and a whole lot more.
My company is www.argentinago.com Feel free to email me at mikeargentinago@yahoo.com We just opened an office just outside of Recoleta in the Microcentro. Soon we plan to offer free high speed internet access for our clients to check their emails. Also, we'll soon offer free calls to the USA and Canada for our customers.
I'm also looking into buying some apartments there to rent out. I already have arranged some good deals with people I know that own apartments. Those that know me know that I'm an honest and ethical guy that always is willing to help you guys.

Argentina better than Brazil. Thailand better than Brazil. Columbia the place to go to. Brazil getting expensive and girls more bitchy than in the past. Apartments to rent better in Argentina than Brazil. BRazil has the beach though. If get hotel in Brazil ok. Don't take girl their, rent at love motel and fuck her their. That way don't worry about leaving a trail for police corruption between them and girl, girl to destroy things in apartment, etc.
Geez Kicked....get a new record, this one is scratched. It does nothing but destroy your credibility to hear you bash everything all the time. This is like the 5th place I have seen you bash Brazil and promote Argentina and SEA in the same post, TODAY!
If you like Argentina and SEA, then post positive things in those areas, don't go to other areas of the world and bash THEM.
This just just makes you look like a jerk.
I'm hoping I can harness the collective wisdom of the group for a little help here.
I'm looking to move down to Buenos Aires for about 6 months. I'd like to find a furnished apartment to stay in for this length of time. Prices on the websites seem pretty high for Argentinian standards, especially for an extended period like this.
From my previous trips down to Buenos Aires I'm under the impression that the best way to go about finding a place is to physically be in Buenos Aires and do a little comparison shopping. But I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction of how to get started or give me a feel for what the "typical" long-term apartment in the Recoleta area should cost month to month.
Hey Callmealias, you could get a hold of a reputable local Hombre, like Godfather (see a couple of posts above). He could set you up short time and perhaps either help you find the right place, or connect you with the right party to do so. GodFather enjoys a good reputation here and would not steer you the wrong way. That is how I would approach it. It is always better to eyeball the places than look at the internet.
Just my 2 cents worth.
My Argentina buddy down here in the states is renting his two-bedroom apartment in Belgrano for 500 pesos a month. Which is pretty nice, on the 16th floor. He gets a hard on after he see what the tourists are paying for apartments.
Remember the average salary for an office worker 700-800 pesos.

just wrapped up a week in Buenos Aires. What a fantastic city. It is springtime here and that means women are wearing even less walking in the parks.
I do not speak Spanish so I arranged a couple of dates through Roxana .. a well known lady in the hobby who helps out gringos like me and her girls always arrive on time (well, once one cancelled but Roxana called me before the established time so I did not waste the afternoon away).
Where should I begin?
Black - popular high end club. The MOST EXPENSIVE place in the city. The girls all start at $300 U.S. ... way too much in BsAs. Even the drinks are priced out of sight ... I passed. The tourist books have coupons for one free admission to Black and at 20 pesos cover, worth tearing it out. Actually, I did a girl who is working at Black (through Roxana) for 200 pesos ($65) for 2 hours .. she told me Black requires them to keep the prices high, especially with American or European businessmen.
Well, after that, the rest of the week, I hit the following clubs:
Ladies - not impressed
Cutty Sark - took a cute spinner Italian out of there one night for 150 pesos
Jaz - lots of girls, but too much like a line-up inside, did not care for the place, but the girls were hot
Catos - great place .. girls on stage ... took a girl out of there for 200 pesos - stayed the night.
Ness - my favorite - more quiet and laid back - no high pressure sales - couches and easy talking to the girls - took a sweetheart out of there who came back another day in the afternoon - my favorite performer of the trip (Mariel).
Roxana arranged a 2-girl workout for me .. you can find them on the Platynum website as Anibella and Agustino (or something close to that - 2 blondes) in the "something different" section - fantastic - toys, hot girl/girl action, bbbj, greek - everything for 2 hours for 300 pesos ($100) for the pair, not each. Pictures are accurate.
Also arranged a date with Merlene from the Platynum site - total GFE (bbbj, greek, kissing, passionate, cuddly - great date) 200 pesos for an hour and a half - also, pictures on the website are accurate.
With all this activity, I needed nutrition, and the steak houses here are second to none .. $20 gets you a bottle of great wine, appetizers, large filet mignon, all the trimmings .. and the Italian restaurants are fantastic as well.
Spent quite a bit of time at The Kilkenny - good bar near the Marriott ..
All in all - the women in Buenos Aires are HOT, beautiful, fun to be with, they will tell you what they will or will not do ahead of time (i.e. bbbj or cbj, cim or not, facials or not, anal or not, do other girls or not) - just ask.
Prices? The standard (I do not include Black in this) ranged from 150 to 200 pesos - never less than an hour and a half .. usually 2.
Exchange rate: 2.95 pesos per $1 US
Whew ... I will be back in 3 months .. cannot wait.

Heading to BA on Sept 18-30 and have been doing my sportman homework.
I read of smaller "off the wall" places but could not find any listed. I am assuming an off the wall place will have a smaller volume of traffic. I prefer clean, fresh, super hot....need I go on. I am not looking to get laid for $50, I need quality and do not mind paying the small difference.
Thanks.

Hypr1, Isawal, Going to BA on Nov 4 staying till Nov 11. Any updated info is appreciated.
I've got a general question regarding wandering around in the hipper areas of BA by yourself. Is there a style of dress that sets you apart as a target? In other words, I want to appear less obvious as an American with money and a perfect target for a thief or a scam. I won't be in dangerous areas to begin with, but still, I don't want to draw unwanted attention.
Things here are way below par.
All the clubs are gone, Cafe Orleans is closed, and Excedra does not allow any pros inside now either.
So any ideas of where to look for some action these days?
