I get asked frequently where to look for freelancers in Rio. After all, Help and Balcony Bar are dead and gone, so there's no place to go where you can simply look, grab, and fuck. The escort agencies are for all intents and purposes all dead. And many guys feel priced out of the termas and find the downtown casa and massage scene too sketchy.

The internet has changed the way prostitution works completely in Rio. Lots of termas girls have left the termas and gone out on their own because they can keep all of the money for themselves and can work or not work whenever they want. The best talent, no question in my mind, is in the freelancer pool.

Historically, freelancers were overpriced in Rio, but the shitstorm that's hit the Brazil economy has seemed to drive prices down.

As many guys have noted here, the Rio prostitution scene is, and has always been, primarily geared to locals. This is especially true with the freelancer market. These girls do not speak English. But that's less of a problem than it used to be, thanks to translation software that we all have on out phones and which is getting better.

But how do you find the winners? Use your phone and computer. You can start by searching some of the sites with information on freelancers, such as HotForum and Forum X. They usually include photos, reviews, and contact information.

All of these girls have cell phones. If you don't you're screwed. Most use WhatsApp, and so should you. I do 95% of my negotiations and bookings using WhatsApp.

Once you find a freelancer you like, get her Facebook page if you can. I'll say more about why in a moment.

Tinder is another tool you can use. Most Tinder girls are not putas, but plenty are, and if they see a foreigner in Rio on Tinder, they'll swipe right.

Now, back to Facebook. I have a group of freelancers I've become Facebook friends with. I stay in touch with them and ask if they have any friends who might want to make a little spending money. I have gotten many outstanding sessions, and I was able to see these girls' friends on Facebook and chat with them in advance. It's been my number one method of finding new talent. Times are tough in Rio, and there are a ton of girls looking to make some money. They want to stay off the radar, so they won't advertise on the web, but they are out there and available. And since Brazilian girls seem to be born knowing how to fuck, I've meet lots of girls who are sweet and far from the hardened pros that frequented Help and Balcony, but nonetheless are outstanding fucks.

Again, the better your Portuguese is, the easier you'll be able to work the informal networks.
