Any experience in Cucuta?

I have passed through Cucuta but never actually stayed. In my humble opinion there are nicer cities than Cucuta, but of course you can find what you want there by cab. I hear Cali has the friendliest girls in the country.

Cúcuta (on the Venezulan border across from San Cristóbal, Venezula. Wow! Talk about living on the razor's edge. Next to Leticia in the Amazonas, the most dangerous area in Colombia. Not for the faint hearted

Hey Gator, I have was thinking about visiting a girl in San Cristobal (coming from Caracas)-is the Venezuela side of things at San Cristobal iffy?

Should be no problem except for street crime. City about 250,000 kinda up in the mountains so the temp. is moderate-reminded me of San José, Costa Rica.

San Cristobal itself is relatively crime free, at least no more crime that any city in Mexico, say Oaxaca. It has kind of a weird lay out, though, and takes forever to drive through.
Its a very conservative and traditional place.
