Stayed here several days. Very nice. Very chica-friendly. Big, clean rooms and good service. Price includes breakfast. And NO, I'm not getting any 'comission' for this plug.

How close is this hotel to avenida sexta?

avenida sexta is about a 5-min cab ride away. I paid CPO2000 (less than $1) each way.
There is also the Instituto Meyer right around the corner from the hotel for finding young, beautiful chicas dying to practise their English with a gringo (~wink). I highly recommend visiting there if you decide to stay at the Aparta.

Thanks for the info Mustang, I was thinking of a Cartagena/Cali trip by the end of the year, and was looking for a decent cheap place to stay near avenida sexta.

What is the correct way to call Colombia from the US? I've tried calling the call just hangs, maybe I'm not dialing correctly...I use 011-2-123-4567.
Is that about right?

57 (The Country code for Colombia)
2 (I'm assuming this is the city code you want. If the number is a cellphone you use a 3)
123-4567 (The number you're calling)
As of June 1st, all cellphone codes have changed. It used to be that 3 was the 'city code' for cellphones but now a cell based in Cartagena is 315 and a cell based in Cali is 310. Don't know the other cities yet...

Hey. Going to Cartegena July/August. Is it safe for a gringo? Any special scams to look out for? Here in Panama it's quite safe. Also here, there are many places that have their own rooms. Will I find this in Cartegena, or must I bring my lady back to my hotel? Gracias.
