Bring your condoms to Rio:

Brazilian codoms suck! They are much too tight for well endowed guys and the quality is questionable. I ask most of my clients to bring me a box or two of Trojans Magnum or Large whenever they come and is generaly no problem. In the odd event that you are stuck somewhere and sex just happens then the brazilian will do with caution.

I''m Brazilian and I live the life of the sex tourists from both sides as I do from time to time "use" the services and "serve" my clients as a guide. The reality is this: BrazilSpecialist was right in saying that Brazil has one of the best programs for the Aids Campaign prevention. Public awareness is very high amongst those over 20 it just lags behind a little on the teen front, but you guys arent going there RIGHT!!!

Wether a girls chooses to use a condom or not it largely depends on herself and her experiences on the job. Personaly I have found that there is no rule from the street whores to the sophisticated agency cowgirls. Once you get inside a private room any type of persuasion may work. BBBJ are very common.

Here is the loadown on the current scene:

1 - Drive by's - The girls that stand on the street primarily in Copacabana and Centro turning tricks for R$50-R$80. Generaly not that great looking but there are the jewels if you look hard enough. A car is a must to reach these. Behaviour: Hardcore but probably the safest sex one can have in Rio because: NO fingering, kissing lips or pussy, BBBJ, Anal and you shoot your load an they're out of there.
2 - The Sidewalkers - These girls hag out in between the drive-by's and the patio girls once in a while adventuring into the restaurant pations and very rarely entering the clubs like Help. R$70-R$150 cheaper if you treat them right and more expensive if you're a dumb newbie. Behaviour: Similar to the drive-by's but at times more adventurous and carelesness. Caution is necessary here as a lot of these girls are into "powder".
3 - The Restaurant Patio - The vast majority here live somewhere very far and only come out at night to the restaurants avoiding both beach action and the clubs. Here there is a drastic change in behaviour as they "loosen up" on their condom rules and premiscuity takes over. Red flags go up but in the heat of things..........you knlow what I mean. The price here can be as high as R$200 but nothing that a couple of drinks and dinner along with a little flirting and respect cant fix.
4 - The Clubbers - Help, Barbarella and so on. Here the world is your oyster as the stew is hot and the ingredients are so many that is hard to discribe them. Here again is the situation where the condom will be an issue so use it for your safety. Pro Behaviour takes over but be careful not to "impulse buy" the "eye candy". However, if you see a jewel with great attitude then try to hold on to her with drinks and GFE behaviour to kill time as the price will decrease the later it gets. Or you may get really lucky and get two for one if she has a ugly friend. Help now has added the top floor of the restaurant Sobre as Ondas to their squarefootage and they gainned a rooftop deck, a new dance floor with another dj and best of all a section with comfy couches in a dark area for you know what. Try to get a starting price early and charm your way to the "final" price. NEVER pay up front. DONT mix drugs and sex and if alone NEVER get drunk. Your safety will be at risk BIGTIME. The bottom line here will be anywhere from R$120-R$400 but please refrain from adding inflation to the current market by keeping the prices low. Future mongers will thank you for that.
4 - The Agency - These girls can definitely surprise you both on the financial and looks front as they sometimes are not who you hired of the catalogue or site. Through some of my clients, I heard that experience with condoms vary here and you may get a feast if you want. Some of these girls are ex-porn stars and are always on GO mode. Then again, you can never be to cautious so wear your jimmy hat.
Price will drastically vary so inquire first not to be surprised after.

The bottom line:
-ALWAYS wear a condom even if you think you are "in love".
-No impulse buying.
-Come to Brazil, play but always leave the toys in the sand box.
-Once a whore......always a whore (they'll never be the trophy Brazilian wife you dreamed of). You can take the girl out of the whore lifestyle but you can never take the whore out of the girl.
-NO DRUGS - there are no exceptions to this rule.

And Brazilian condoms really are no good, I always take plenty from here when I'm visiting. Besides being better for me, I hand them out like candy to both pros and "with-it" non-pros - the girls always appreciate them as gifts/tips. The danger in doing drugs in Rio is:

1) It's the one thing that the cops can nail you on (the other is underage girls). As a relatively "rich" american in Rio, you are a big fat target for every scam artist in town.... the biggest scam artists are the police themselves. And drugs is the biggest lever that they can use against you. Don't do it and they can't nail you. Read some of the posts on this board about guys getting shaken down after having drugs planted on them.....

2) It limits your alertness and reactions, both of which you'll need in Rio. It's not a smart idea to wander around Copacabana or have a GP up to your room while dead drunk, stoned is even dumber.

3) How are you going to get your drugs? Either bring it in on theplane with you, inviting heavy shit to rain down on your head if you are caught, or you will have to go to the foot of one of the favelas (ponto do fumo) to buy some, again inviting all kinds of disaster. Of course, you can also buy through a middle man "on the street" in Copacabana, but what keeps himfrom running to the police and saying "Hey, you want to shake down a big fat rich American? I know one who's got a gram of blow on him...", then it's back to scenario #1. No thanks!

One of the things to look out for in Rio is the old "Boa Noite Cinderella" - the micky finn. After you are back at your apartment, the girl will slip the micky into your drink and get you so drugged up, you either give her your shit or open the safe and she grabs herself. A simpler method is just to knock you out and steal anything she can find.

This can generally be avoided by just staying in a hotel, or do a better job selecting your garotas. For invites back to an apartment, agency girls and terma girls are the best, since you know where they work. Club girls are middle of the road on safety, just make sure to put everything in your safe. Generally, if they steal anything it would be like money out of your pants pocket or grabbing a camera or something that has been left unsecured on a countertop somewhere.

Street girls? Risky in more ways than one.

I only know two guys who have gotten nailed by Boa Noite Cinderella piranhas, one a newbie and one a very veteran monger. It can happen to anyone, but the risk can be greatly mitigated.

i have had good success using extra large condoms available at most drogarias (when in a pinch)...however, i definitely prefer to bring my own

I went sem condom in my apartment with a girl I picked up on the street corner and then her friend came over and we all got drunk and did some coke that she purchased from some street kid. You are right on about Good Night Cinderella. Tell anyone that if you walk away from your drink for a spell leave it and buy another. Also, if a Garota offers you some gum or candy after a night of dancing while you head back to the hotel for fun be careful. Best to stick with the Therma girls as they can be traced must easier than a Copa Beach girl or street walker. "Help" can be Heaven or Hell.

(mostly based on a predisposition towards Asian women) I have about 375,000 frequent flyer miles saved up and South America is a good value on FF miles. Tickets are about the same price as Asia to buy but take fewer FF miles to get freebies. Now that I'm CO platinum I get 33,659 CO miles for each trip to BKK in economy on EVA and it is only 50,000 miles for a free trip to Brazil or 35,000!!!! for a free trip to Colombia so once I start burning ff mile I should be in South America allot. 2006 I will probably hit Columbia and Brazil a few times. I wish I had tried Villa Mimosa my first night in Brazil instead of waiting until my last night. I really liked that place

I have a question for you and if anyone else would like to give some in-put as many of my friends and I in Bangkok would be grateful. I have traveled to both Asia and South America, but much more to Thailand. Brasil is great and I plan to go back whenever I can, but Thailand seems to be my choice for various reasons. My questions is this. My friends and I see so many guys from the US and W. Europe come to Thailand and fall in Love with the first Bar Girl they meet. I live in the oil town of Macae, about three hours drive northeast of Rio. There are hundreds of Americans and Europeans here. Over 70% of them have traded in there first wife for a younger Brazilian one. Sometimes it works out, but most of the time it is a disater.

Last week a 50+ year old Canadian was murdered in his own home by a burglar. He had recently made a very large sum of money on the stock market.

His mid 20s Brazilian wife has had her passport taken away by the police, and is suspected to have been involved in the murder.
