I am need of a great hotel or apt. for June 20 thru June 28, 2003. Must be able to bring "guests" to room or apt. Must be very nice, clean, etc...Not looking for bargain basement. Copacabana Beach location preferred.

Try getting in touch with Don or Rhonda at riotrips@hotmail.com and ask them about my (Jace's)penthouse in Copacabana. Many of the posters from this board have enjoyed it and they can give you some direct information. Comfortable, well appointed and very convenient.

Where is Jaces' Penthouse exactly located ? Is it directly on the Beach ? How close to Marriott Hotel ? How many bedrooms and bathrooms ? Is the building "guest friendly" ? Does the building have a pool or jacuzzi ?
Thanks

You should be specific what you call a GREAT apartment.
A while ago I helped a monger who paid R$ 40 000 for 3 months rental of an absolute luxury 4 bedroom 3-4 bath apartment in a prestigious Av Atlantica building (most Brazilians know the building by name!)
You get nice apartment from the well known apartment rental people. Kenn and Bobby probably have some more luxurious apartments available.
Decio at www.telefonema.net is more specialized in cheap apartments, but check him out. My own apartment is ok but nothing in the super luxury category.

What building might that be, and do you know if their are any available rentals for period 6/20/03 thru 6/28/03 ?
Thanks

I dont think you could get this class of apartment for less than 1-2 months.
you dont really need that size anyway. And he already is irritating building adminstration with the number of girls that are coming into his apartment. A more low key building is usually more appropriate for the hobby

Brazil Specialist is correct, that is the one major drawback to getting a "highroller" apartment. Building management does not appreciate guys parading Help girls in and out all day and night long. Plus they like to rent those types of apartments for 6 months to a year, not 10 day or long weekend vacations.
It can be difficult to get a highroller place to begin with. I know a number of guys who had the means to rent a place and were turned down for various reasons. Some of the owners can be very difficult to work with. Better to get a one or two bedroom place where you won't draw so much attention to yourself.

I appreciate all of the help. Could someone reccomend a building and an apartment that would be good for the hobby. I would like something with a good view of the ocean, (Copacabana). It could be one or two bedrooms, and have one or two bathrooms. I would like it to be as nice as possible and have maid service available.
Thanks.
