Spent a lovely 9 days in Rio over the past two weeks. We had booked into the Californio Othon Classic ,approx. 2600 Avienda Atlantica, hoping to have a great stay for a moderate price of $76 USD a day with a balcony and ocean view with a double bed.
What I was given was a semi delapidated room with a poorly working A/C unit, shabby furniture, and a generally dismal room with two single beds with poor matteresses. Certainly not condusive to having the expected company in my room.
Needless to say, we went on the hunt for better rooms with a good discount. Tried the Marriott next store. Offered weekend discounts, reduced weekly rates, exec priviladges and ocean view. Went one more down to the Luxor. Rate was cheaper ,ocean view . But when asked to see the room ,was not able to see unit after 7pm. This was already 5:30pm . Strange. Anyways, hustled back to the California, checked out, asked for our money back. Given the receipts, waiting for the Visa bill to confirm, and checked into the Marriott. Fab hotel, right in the centre. good service etc etc and no problem bringing guests to the room. Only one at a time. No charge.
Lesson learned. Internet sites look great but fooled; used Bobby as a reference on the California hotel but this did not help. Must check out for yourself. Spent more on accommodations than wanted, but staying for nine days, it had to be enjoyable and good. It all adds up to having a great expierence in a great city which we found out as this was our first time in Rio.

was that bobby of blameitonrio and i take it that they didn't have picture of this room on the internet..

Yes it was Bobby of Blameitonrio.com and yes there was a picture. The question is" when was the picutre taken?" Lots of smoke and mirrors.

hey guys
anybody have comment about Bobby at blameiton rio.com tell me of the apartment and if it is what you expected, I'am thinking about renting a apartment from him, also thanks for the inside information about what happen I think what going to happen is that i have a few contact down there I will take the telephone number of them contact also call them before i leave to let them know to be prepare if they have something available take i coming if it don't work with bobby also i going to call bobby to tell him that if i don't like the apartment i have other apartment so don't play
any games with me....
