And maybe that one *was* worth $100 - she'd teased me for days to whet my appetite.)

US$15 for black girls on the street in the old town of Recife, $50 for white girls in the port area of Manaus. US$15 a night for a girl I was seeing every night for 10 days in Sao Luis, plus a saida fee (= bar fine)of about $7 per day. Recife highly variable, $15 to $75 at Boa Viagem (low prices to girls who couldn't get into the two clubs; high prices for those who could).

I haven't been following what devaluation's done to the dollar or whether prices in Brazil have changed (ie gone up to match) as a result.

My impression is that since the Brazilian Real has floated that prices have stayed fairly constant in terms of the Real. My only experiences are in Rio; I don't know anything at all about prices outside of Rio. I would assume that things would be much cheaper there but I do not have any facts to base that on. The numbers that I am going to throw out are high end in all the high end tourist spots. Hopefully others can help establish more accurate numbers in Rio and other places. Obviously locals can beat the pants off these numbers.

Meia Pataca - 50-100 reais for a couple of hours; 100 is very common
Mabs - 50 reais for a couple of hours
Villa Mimoza - 20 reais
Terma Centaurus - 290 reais for a roll in the hay
Other tourist termas - 160 reais for 40 minutes
Other tourist termas - 230 reais for 60 minutes
Help (inside) - 100-200 reais
Help (outside) - 100 reais
Atlantico street women - ?
escorts - 100-200 reais
Bararella's - 200+
Other Lido places - ?
Dock bars (Scandanavia,etc ) - ?

The current exchange rate has varied between 2.30 reais per dollar to 2.80 reais per dollar in the last year.

These numbers don't touch prices in Cambodia but they are big city prices. Hopefully others can add some insight into prices in other parts of Brazil and maybe give better figures for Rio itself.

There also are alot of other more local options even in Rio. Cheap termas, ads in the globo, etc. I'm not knowledgeable about these options so I'll leave that for others.

I think you are right on with the prices you posted. Thats basically what you will pay for an encounter. If the garota knows its your first time, she might ask for a sky high price, but that doesn't mean you have to pay it. I like to keep the prices standard so that they wont explode as the real continues to devalue. NEVER PAY IN DOLLARS!!

Quick mention, during carnival all those prices go right out the window! The girls are going to ask for ALOT more money because it will be a seller's market. There are millions of people in town and they can always find a sucker who will pay what they ask.

You might get lucky if you have a couple of regulars who won't try and gouge you because they know they will get service from you in the future. The girls in Help will be outrageous because they have to cover their entrance fee as well. I think during Carnival the prices to enter Help go up to about 50-60R a night.

Yes and no, Thumper... I was in Rio for carnaval a couple years back, and did'nt notice much in the way of price differences other than the ridiculous Hotel charges. I chose to stay at the Love hotel a couple blocks behind Help, Hotel Vanici. It was double the gowing rate, but not as outrageous as some.

The termas, restaraunts and generally everything else stayed at the same price. No doubt, the garotas at Help and the cafes were more apt to ask pie-in-the-sky ammounts, but typically faced reality when they saw you were'nt a newbie. I and a friend of mine took a couple girls from Monte Carlo to some of the carnaval attractions over the course of a whole day and night, and gave them R$250 each... Of course, by that time we were into the (and what Rio is famous for)more of a gfe setup, and they were glad to spend an evening partying and away from the terma.

Young Tom, my friend, do your self a favor and ask the terma girl of your choice out on a date for carnaval. I assure she will accept, and you will be all the happier whilst avoiding the sharks. See ya there, bro.

Price for a girl in a cafe (in a city other than Rio) in my experience is something like 75 reals short time (room in the back) and 100 reals plus barfine (30 reals) overnight....

My experience in Rio is consistent with the above prices....but a girl I met in one of the terma come to my hotel room late every night and spent the night with me....she didn't ask for any money, but I gave her some anyway....most fun I have had in a long time....

So any other thoughts are there on fair prices?

I have negotiated as little as $100R for an all nighter. A full night and next morning up until lunch. I did this by getting her to leave Help first, and then setting the price.

Again, if you smile, treat them with respect, you will get great mileage! They love guys that will dance with them for a while before leaving the club.

In Sao Paulo, I spent the evening with a true supermodel (had photo's and found her on the web). That cost me $350R for the whole night and was the most incredible experience I have had yet.

Prices are prices are prices. Sorry, my mind is a bit lost right now. I've been hangin with a hottie (IMHO) for the last few days\nights. I've paid to her as little as $50R and as high as $150R for all day and night. Prior to hooking with her loooooong time I had about 11 other girls and the price ranged from $100R (beach girl) to $250R outside of Help girl. I've also been to several termas for as low as $168R to a high of $800R ( 2girls 2 hours suite, well worth it).

There are local massage parlors downtown Rio starting at R$ 10 for 10 minute quickies. R$ 30 gets you pretty good girls there. But it is not everyone's taste.

You find it in O Dia classifieds, even on the web. I think I posted about this elsewhere.

And yes, this is not for the squeamish, you might not like the environment. Though it is mostly safe. Just bring your own towel and comdoms
