This is a trick question. I personally love the termas. The girls attitudes are better. Some of the Help girls can be a bit jaded. I do like to go to Help when I have problems sleeping. My best trips to Help have actually been when I'm not really interested in grabbing a woman but just want to hang out and talk. I seem to always meet a great looking fun woman at Help then.

Hmm. My thought is that it depends on what you are looking for. I mean, my preference or definition of GFE is to "pay the woman to leave" while having al of the fun of a girl friend. So I prefer over nighters with skin on skin for a while. Some of the time, I am just looking to "get done". Termas are good for that and very comfortable

I have done well in Help. I dance, buy them bottled water, have great conersation (they love my broken Portuguese) end up out of there for cheap overnighters. My next best action has been on the beach. FLirting, meeting them, hanging out.

But YT yours and Athos stories are making me consider booking for 5/17 - ??. I mean, you have done much more exploration than I have in Termas (Luomo for me) and I have seen the girls react to groups of men (3-6) in Help much more favorably. The Italian's travel there in groups and it is a non-stop party. I hung out with a bunch when I was there by myself last time. The girls invited me in.

My experiences are not as good as yours, from the posts. I also never called any agencies (I work with a lot in the US and Canada and figured "Why?").

By the way, what hotel are you guys booked into in May? I am starting to think I really need to get there again. Do you find May less beach worthy because the weather is starting to change? When I was there at the end of May, beginning of June, you could not even go on the beach because it was too cold.

I have never pulled a woman from a Terma to meet me later (my bad, just didn't figure it was worth it when I was going to Help and Meia Pataca anyway and there was an abundance).

Yea, I like the women of Help the best. Some are jaded, and there are enough that I avoid those. They are there to party though, have fun, be playful. And while it is work, it is not a closed in environment for them like a Terma. I guess that is why the girls from Help, at least for me, seem less mechanical and more like girlfriends (for the period of time I let them).

I generally don't spend alot of time hanging out on the beach although I do generally go for a walk on the beach once a day. Temperatures are 10 degrees cooler than Jan-Mar (80s as opposed to 90s) during May. For my May trip last year, I lucked out - it had been rainy for 2 weeks prior to my arrival but the day that I arrived the clouds parted & the weather was great for the week so the beach was good that trip (lots of women at the beach). But if it had been cloudy like the previous 2 weeks, then the beach would have been a no-go; so I guess that it is hit or miss in May.

I'm going to stay at the Debret & I believe Athos is staying over at the Rio Roiss. Both are good moderately priced choices; I just like the beach view from the Debret.

I've only done a few agency girls and have been someway disappointed - mostly because generally you can't see their faces in the photos (and in my 2 cases, their faces weren't pretty) and if the photos are old then alot can change in the girls appearance. Rather than call an agency girl to come over in the morning/early afternoon since I spend so much time in the termas, I setup a date with a termas girl (since I've met them I know a bit about their personality/looks so I think that it works out better than the agency thing (at least for me it does)).

I wish that the day was longer in Rio There are so many good daytime options to met women in Rio. As you pointed out, the beachs are great places to met women in the day. There also are the beach cafes. And termas. Agencies are there for those that like them as well.
I enjoy going to Help as well but usually just to hang out and most times I leave alone (no big deal - I've had my fill in the termas). I'm going to try to check out Barbarellas/Franks more for late night action. If one hits Barberellas around 11-11:30 & nothing looks promising, one can still head to Help.

i am not sure how you can top the therma experience. no $ changes hands, sauna and jacuzzi's for a change of pace. great friendly, beautiful girls at a fixed cost. booze, ect delivered to you, via garota, while you are sitting in a robe......

i enjoy help quite a bit also. tons of girls of all varieties. i just like to go there after i have been taken care of completely. in rio this is not hard, due to beach scene and thermas. the relaxed attitude helps one not get hustled by the piranas. its fun to just hang and observe. the whole buy the drink tix thing sucks though. standing in 2 different lines for 1 drink. who thought that one up?

The main reason that I can think of why they insist on using the ticket booth purchase, is employee theft. They have about 5 bartenders at each bar collecting tickets and making drinks, it would be close to impossible to keep an eye on all of them if it was all cash transactions. Since they can get alot of money flowing thru the club on a saturday nite, it could be a huge temptation to pilfer the cash register.

I suspect you are correct, Thumper. Many businesses in latin america are run in similar fashion. One must go thru many receipts and employees to make it out of a drug store alive. Damn, and all I wanted was those horse-pill antibiotics, LOL.

The main drawback is the plethora of unused Help drink tickets I now have a collection of.

I took a terma girl (after her shift ended) to HELP. We had a blast there. She helped me negotiate a girl for my buddy. She also got a bit jealous when I talked to someone he wasn't interested in. I didn't think she'd know but he told her! I love these women when they get mad and jealous.

I visited two termas, Solarium and L'uomo, and I spent 3 nights in Help. I have to say that Solarium is a class act and the termas experience in general is very relaxing, low pressure. There is no hurry, no pressure for drinks, or even to make a pick. If you are a big guy, ask the lady in the changing area for a "Grand" robe. The one robe I had at L'uomo could have held two of me, and was nice and long.

The first night in Help was overwhelming, but the selection was much better on both Saturday and Sunday night than Friday (for some reason). It is hard to get rid of a girl once you let them latch on, but on the other hand, the sheer quantity means that you should be able to find something you like most of the time. At Help I was blown off by 7s but bagged my only 9+ (supermodel) quality girl. Go figure! One night I left alone, another night with a total slut who banged me for almost 3 hours non-stop and left me rubbed raw.

Help is much better if you are into dancing, can speak some portugese, and are comfortable negotiating. Termas are better if you just want to sit around and pick a girl and don't want to deal with price games. Help requires some effort to be put into the chase, but termas are easy. Sometimes there is as much fun in not knowing that it is a done deal.

The advantage of Rio is that Help is only open when the termas are closed. This lets you do both, as they are really not competitive. The competition for Help was really only the Lido clubs like Franks, La Ciciolina, and Barbarella. Barbarella had top shelf women, but I never did quite figure out the negotiations/bar fine there, so I did not pull the trigger. I ended up at Help that night. The Lido clubs get going around 11PM, but Help does not start hopping until 1AM (getting busy starting about midnight).

The competition for the termas are the beach scene (which I was not overly impressed with) and the agencies. The agencies can be tough because almost none speak english at all. Also, the girls are hit/miss with looks, attitude, and availability. On any given day, only a small portion are working.

Overall, seemed there was a place for everything in Rio, but never enough time. Although I didn't expect to, I really liked Help. I intend to spend more time at the termas next time and use less agency girls once I have improved my portugese. Of course the real answer is that I can't wait to go back to Rio!

Terma is a sure thing, Help is hit and miss.
Terma provides fantasy, Help provides work.
Terma is restricted, Help is wide open.

What do I prefer? terma of course; it's not even close. For me terma is main course while Help is just gravy.

I just spent the last 5 days with a client at help and various other "sex" locations in Rio. It is still low season. With that in mind: Help has currently a surplus of women dying to get laid for whatever they can get above R$100. That is totally your call as a client. they usually start at US$200 and from there on its up to you to negotiate down to whatever value you think she's worth. Knowing a little portuguese or spanish will go a long way in the process of getting laid and not getting ripped off. Treat the girls with respect almost as if she was a non-pro and that will also pay big time into the night. Buy them some drinks, take them upstairs for a little more privacy and before you know it (in most cases) the price will start to come down to a reasonable sum (R$150-250 depending on how hot she is). Make sure she FULLY understands what you are paying for so there is no confusion amounting to an abrupt termination of your pleasure dome. Its a common mistake (and I've been there too) to pay in advance expecting an all nighter when in fact right after you shoot your loads the girl goes to the can and comes back fully clothed saying that she has to go home for her needy child that just sudenly came into existance. Word to the wise: Make sure you know what you are paying for and for how long.
Try not to "book" a girl before 1 or 2 am as she'll do you and have enough time to make a second trip at Help. work her into the nite with drinks and talk and take her out after 2 or 3 that way she has nothing to go back for as help closes at 5am.

Dont forget that there are plenty of girls just outside HELP in the restaurant that almost never go in the club. these women are generaly cheaper that the inside girls.

Again, communication is the key here. Learn what you can or bring one of those pocket instant translators with you to maximise your fun times.
