Located a couple of blocks inland from Copacabana Beach, in a shopping centre on the corner of Rua Siqueira Campos and Rua Barata Riberio. (Go upstairs one floor - turn right at the top of the escalator and you'll find it on the right hand side). Entrance is fairly discreet n that there's no-one else around that part of the shopping centre.

Woman on reception will explain prices and options - not much English spoken, but you'll get by and they're friendly enough. It's cheap - I opted for a suite with ensuite shower, 40 minutes (I think the usual was 30) - total cost was R$90 (Aug 01) which included a couple of drinks I bought at the small bar. (You pay on the way out, cash only)

You change into a bathrobe (clean) and slippers in a small changing area and get a locker with key for your clothing. Everything was clean enough.

You then go through to a small sitting room, where one of the girls will meet you. Hardcore video playing in the corner. Small bar adjacent to this room for drinks.

There were about 5 girls there during my visit (mid-afternoon), and I was the only punter there when I arrived. Girls speak no English, and most are variable quality (4 - 6 max out of 10)

Yikes!! You went there?!! I went to check it out in November and if you are used to the other termas such as Solarium, 4x4, Centauress etc, then this place is a MAJOR letdown. There was about 8 girls when I went and they were all skanky looking. Definitely not recommended.

There is a low to mid-range terma in Copacabana that is not part of the “cycle,” i.e. is not generally frequented by the Monte Carlo, Solarium, etc., crowd. It is presently called Beach Girls Sauna (I believe it used to be called Pedagio) and is located on the second floor of an outdoor shopping mall at Rua Barata Ribeiro 370, just north of Rua Siqueira Campos; Rua Barata Ribeiro is maybe three blocks from the beach, up Rua Siqueira Campos. The terma is not luxurious, and when I went there were only a handful of garotas, not that great looking but a couple were okay. The entrance fee is R$20 but if you try, they may waive it for you; I went there on a Saturday and there were very few garotas so the person at the entrance said if I came back on Monday he would let me in for free, which he did. At the very least, see if you can look around before committing to the entrance fee. The session with the garota is R$70 for a half hour and around R$120 for an hour. This was the only terma where the girl I chose wanted to be paid extra for anal though; whether this was an aberration I do not know. Not a great place but worth a peek. Also, there is an internet café on the ground floor of the mall that was very reasonable, although this may have reflected a temporary promotion.

As noted below, Beach Girls Sauna is in the general vicinity of the Copacabana massage parlors, so you can do some “window shopping” in the area and eventually you will probably find something, if not at your first stop. If you are interested in similar termas, I know there are at least a couple in the centro area, I was at one two years ago, but my recollection is not good as to where they are. If anyone out there has information on this, please share it with us.

No, it's not. The only Sunday termas are L'uomo and Solarium.

BTW, this place is closed, shuttered, gone for good. Early in its history the place was called Termas Pedagio, and while pretty much a dive, you could find some real winners on occasion getting their start there. The famous Black Widow of L'uomo, Camila, got her start at Pedagio.
