Macapa is a small city a boatride (or plane-ride) away from Belem. Pretty damn hot, as it is near the equator, but it's actually a decent city with parks, zoos, and a well-designed layout. Better than Belem anyhow.

The pro scene is laid out in a casa setting, with several small casas holding onto the girls that work there. Casa das maquinas is the most well-known one, and they import girls from Belem. Of course, I didn't find Belem girls all that good looking, so this did nothing for me. Just talk to any younger looking taxi driver and he'll give you a tour.

I should point out that A LOT of girls from Belem and Macapa are shipped to Suriname to work in the brothels there. From there, they are smuggled to various points in Europe. The Brazilians don't like this, and tried to crack down on it a few times, but hard to stop such things from happening.

In any case, gringos are very rare here, and if you are reasonably young and blonde, you'll likely get a lot of attention. Try Bit Society and Bit Country on the weekends (dead on weekdays), where you'll see lots of non-pro girls and mostly older and uglier locals. You can have your pick if you speak Portuguese.

The only American I met here was a missionary who moved here for some type of agricultural project and to convert the heathen masses....American missionaries, old retired American men chasing Brazilian girls, and young broke American men teaching English are found everywhere, no matter how small or remote the town or city.

Oh, and unlike most parts of the Amazon, this place is not a yellow fever designated area, so don't worry about the mosquitos.

Overall, worth a visit if you are in the area, and certainly very cheap (like 120R) to fly to from Belem.

Just read your brazil city updates. Once again, great info! I was more or less in the same boat (25, speak portuguese) as you when I was down there this year, and I am still curious about the other parts of Brazil that I didn't make it too. Did you ever make it to Natal? I remember you were on your way to those parts. Great city, I found it much more fun than Fortaleza although it is a little smaller and the fun is limited to the beach areas. Looking forward to updates. Miss those girls...

Yup, Natal, Pipa, and Jericoacoara are great. Not necessarily for the program aspects, since I am neither a porn star nor a human fuck machine, but for clean outdoor partying and fun, it was a blast. Met lots of girls.

BTW, I am now living in the Northeast of Brazil and just bought an apartment with a beach view. Will be here until March, and probably end up marrying one of these girls I'm dating if I'm not careful. One thing I learned, these chicks are jealous as hell. I've never met such jealous women in my entire life.
