I stayed in the Charleston (converted convent from the 17th Century) in the Old City the last 2 times, 5 star hotel, no problem bringing differant girls back every night, cost $75 per night, never had to bribe anyone.
Its not on the beach, taxi ride is 2,500-3,000 pesos to the beach, nice pool and restaurant on the roof.
A dozen restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Hombre,
What hotel is that picture of above you posted???
Batman that's the Hotel Charleston St. Teresa in the old city.
5 star and nice, but I still prefer the Hotel Santa Clara (also 5 star)

Really??
What attracts you more to the Hotel SC vs Charlotte? I have heard great reviews from the latter, but none from Santa Clara...
Thx for the info.

I prefer the Charleston Santa Teresa.
Bonvvnt prefers the Santa Clara, because owns part of it.

I wish I owned part of it! It's a 5 star hotel run by Sofitel. Great pool (although I admit the rooftop pool at the Santa Teresa is nice!) Nice large room with a balcony.
I like it because I can use my timeshare membership there and pay VERY small prices. Last trip was 300.00US for the week.

The Hotel Santa Clara is a very nice hotel, a lot better than the Charlotte.
I don't think that you will find it as good as the Waldorf-Astoria though.
As to seeing Gator at Sandmans party, I am sure it is someone else on this board useing another handle, I have been trying to meet him for 2 years.
Or maybe he just wants to avoid me.

Hunter, this colonial will track you down one day and dinner will be one me. Do not know how may name was thrown into the pot but my time for now, when available, is in Medellin. BTW, how was your visit to : This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands, --
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England."

One day, but the dinner is on me.
Forget the UK, I hate it there, I have returned home now.

I guess it's true: "Home is where the heart is."
Isn't Colombia a great country? If only, and I pray to God, Uribe can make it happen.
Best of Luck, Gator
